Lies.

She was good in Buffy but she's absolutely dire in this and that's not even debatable as far as I'm concerned. She doesn't give any distinction between the portrayals of Bridget and Siobhan. Also she's constantly so unsure and blank-faced as Bridget-playing-Siobhan that there's no way people wouldn't clock that something was wrong immediately. She's totally miscast in this. If you want to see somebody giving a great dual role performance you should check out Fringe and Anna Torv who plays two versions of her character and is AMAZING at bringing out the subtle differences between the two. SMG is completely hopeless.

WOT? Anna plays TWO people in Fringe nowadays?! I guess i'm too FAR BEHIND (s02e03 i think)
Nina Dobrev plays dual roles in 'The Vampire Diaries' and does it so much better than SMG (although I think the styling helps to show which character is which in TVD, on top of the acting). Can't comment on 'Fringe' though I might check it out in the near future.
Is it really a surprise that SMG is dire in 'Ringer'? She wasn't exactly brilliant in Buffy either.

Buffy made her into a PHENOMENON at the time so clearly a lot of people thought she was very good in it. That's not to say she's an amazing actress but she was clearly perfect for the role.

She was a phenomenon because she was mildly hot (not really, but people seemed to think so) and starring in a surprisingly well written television series. She's rather faceless tbh and all the credit should go to Joss Whedon for making her even remotely watchable.

I'm still a week behind on Homeland thanks to by Fringe marathon, but episode 7 was AMAZE.

WOO I'm having a Fringe marathon as well! :D

It's so fucking great that they actually use people who are native Russian speakers (s02e06) as opposed to awful russian-'speaking' wannabes that even I don't always understand (HAI Nikita, Alias). Much much respect.

:(

Alex's Russian scenes are usually one of my favourite things about Nikita.

I'm working my way through Homeland, watched the first two so far and really enjoying it. Not too war/Afghanistan focused as I thought it might be from seeing the promo poster and a couple of clips, which is a good thing in my books.

Ditto. I always love it when they speak foreign languages and they actually get the accent right.

Alex's russian is rather bad (although improvement from season 1, she must've taken some classes  ). And her russian accent she faked to have was so cliched. Not everybody speaks like that at all, especially if they know english as well as russian. There are so many other ways to be more subtle.

Sigh.

Grimm given a full season order with a trial on Thursday at 10 on December 8th (with another episode the night after in it's normal slot). Given how well it's managing for NBC on a Friday it's worth a trial, as long as they promote it enough so people know it's on.

'Up All Night' also given two extra episodes to take it up to 24.

That is potentially quite a good move for NBC there. It's been doing very well on Fridays
NBC once again extending an SNL related comedy - I wonder if their subservience to Lorne Michaels may explain their downturn in part :P>
HOMELAND. THAT ENDING.

I am suitably AGOG at it too. Every time you think you have a hold on where the story is going it takes a totally different path.
