January 28, 201213 yr Wow, Chuck's ratings were REALLY atrocious. I hope Parks and Rec. survives this  Edited January 28, 201213 yr by Ljósið
January 28, 201213 yr In all likeliness it will - it's number 2 for NBC's scripted shows since midseason with a 1.8 (just shows how terribly things are going at the moment!), as well as the fact that it needs another season to reach the magic 88, so I'm sure it'll survive <3. 'Parenthood' on the other hand is averaging a 1.7 since midseason and much further from syndication (13+22+18=53) compared to (6+24+16+22=68) for Parks :snif:. Both shows should be averaging much better though - they're probably the two finest shows on broadcast TV! (imo ofc :P)
January 28, 201213 yr Grey's is killing it to say it's in its 8th season now. Wow. I don't know what NBC can do. Maybe a complete rebrand with a new name for the channel? I'm tempted to say Awake should be saved for September.
January 28, 201213 yr Author Both NBC and The CW can be saved, they need a break out hit and then to put out some really good quality stuff as lets be honest, both networks air more than their fair share of trash. NBCs been fucked since the glory days of Friends, Will & Grace etc and they never really found their Grey's/Modern Family/American Idol/CSI to replace them as anchors for the channel.
January 31, 201213 yr ABC's The River couldn't secure a deal with a UK channel so it will be available to buy on iTunes the day after each episode airs in the US at a cost of £1.89 an episode or £12.99 for the series (there's 8 eps in total). Seems like good value and a good way to get it out there for a UK audience although a deal with Netflix might have worked better still... What ratings do we think Smash will manage?
January 31, 201213 yr I suspect 'The Voice' will do better than 'Glee' did after the Superbowl, it's a season premiere, reality (Undercover Boss did well in 2010) and did very well last season. It should also do very well the night after too, great way to keep momentum going. As for 'Smash', do high 3s-low 4s seem realistic? Nothing seems to be massive at 10pm but 'Revenge' managed to premiere to a 3.3 and there's a lot of buzz as well as an excellent lead in.
January 31, 201213 yr Ugh I'm so stupid, I thought Smash was premiering directly after Superbowl for some reason. I forgot it's The Voice. I think Smash will probably only manage high 2s in that case. Booo.
January 31, 201213 yr Author I think Smash will premier rather big and it has the potential to keep The Voice's lead in at a 3.5-4.0 level. Presuming The Voice doesn't crash and burn like the rest of NBC.
January 31, 201213 yr NBC have ordered a pilot of Bad Girls which is (duh) an adaptation of the UK series. Here's hoping they don't butcher it a la Prime Suspect. ABC are also considering ordering pilots for adaptations of Mistresses and Suburban Shootout.
February 1, 201213 yr Author Suburban Shootout  I would say this must happen, but the Americans would just butcher them. Plus most of SS's charm came from being distinctly British.
February 1, 201213 yr Exactly. I mean they could get it right - they managed to get Shameless right and still maintain the quirky flavour of estate life even though Manchester and Chicago are worlds apart - but what are the chances?
February 1, 201213 yr Author Exactly. I mean they could get it right - they managed to get Shameless right and still maintain the quirky flavour of estate life even though Manchester and Chicago are worlds apart - but what are the chances? I think it helps that they stole the script for the first episode and it's on a cable network that is working with the original creators. I can't see the big networks being so keen on letting the British in to effectively run shit to make sure it's done properly. While SS could be fantastically done in the States, I think the very British elements of it actually made the show what it is and the need to protect the OC from low cost housing and hoodies just wouldn't have the same charm :( Apparently HBO commissioned a pilot in 2008 that has yet to be picked up or dropped. They might actually do it justice.
February 1, 201213 yr Oh I have no doubt at all that SS will be utter shit, as Silas says most of what made it so good was the Britishness of it all (not to mention a fabulous cast).
February 1, 201213 yr Oh and Alcatraz episode 4 is tres good. The finale few moments confused me, it looked like it was going one way and then did something totally different, I LIKE IT.
February 3, 201213 yr FINALLY. After getting a 0.8 last night 'The Firm' will be burned off on Saturday nights on NBC with 'Grimm' repeats taking the Thursday @ 10pm timeslot for the rest of February. 'Awake' takes the slot from March 1st so let's hope it doesn't go the same way as the other shows that have been in the slot this season.

NBC have some very good pilots lined up next season though, but whether they're translated well, who knows.
February 3, 201213 yr FOX are switching things up a bit on Tuesday nights when Glee goes on a break, I think the original plan was 'New Girl' repeats at 8 followed by new 'Breaking In' at 8:30 but it'll now run as follows; 8 Raising Hope 8:30 I Hate My Teenage Daughter 9 New Girl 9:30 Breaking In Trying to help 'Breaking In' but 'Raising Hope' hasn't been doing great with the NG lead-in so I don't know how it'll do leading the night.
February 3, 201213 yr AT LAST. 'Homeland' and 'Awake' were the shows I felt the best about. Hopefully the latter doesn't disappoint.
