March 6, 201213 yr Fringe being renewed would be nothing short of a MIRACLE. It's so going to happen isn't it? :D 13 episodes max though.
March 6, 201213 yr I would be VERY HAPPY if Fringe does get a final, even 10 episode season. The producers have said this one won't wrap things up (they must have been feeling very LUCKY when they decided to make it like that) so it would be good to get closure.
March 6, 201213 yr Author It's losing Fox money, but they like the show and realistically what else are they gonna shift to Friday. I can see it getting a 5th season purely to fill the space in the schedule. It may end up sharing the slot with Alcatraz.
March 6, 201213 yr That's my hope re. Alcatraz, they can shunt it to Friday's. I'd rather that than not get another series, this one doesn't look like it's going any way to wrap things up.
March 6, 201213 yr I think The Good Wife will also be shunted to Fridays. Sub-2.0 ratings are not good enough for any other day of the week on CBS. Smash rose to a 2.7 last night! Its run thus far is 3.8-2.8-2.3-2.3-2.7. NBC must be so pleased to have a genuine HIT!
March 6, 201213 yr The Good Wife has only been below 2.0 once though, so unless that's a continual pattern it isn't too bad. It's been hovering around 2.1 for almost this entire series.

March 6, 201213 yr Fringe being renewed would be nothing short of a MIRACLE. It's so going to happen isn't it? :D 13 episodes max though. Well I thought one of Terra Nova, Fringe, The Finder and Alcatraz would get renenwed, at least with a 13 episode order. Have a feeling it will be Fringe! I guess it depends on whether FOX want to keep Bad Robot happy.
March 6, 201213 yr Author I never understood that reasoning. Fox don't have to keep Bad Robot happy. There is only 4 major networks in the US after all. They can't fall out with one of them if they don't get a poorly rated show renewed. IF Bad Robot have a pilot that Fox really want only then it becomes a renewal to keep them happy. I still think that Fringe only got a 4th season because WB literally gave it to Fox and it was somehow tied into the Alcatraz deal.
March 6, 201213 yr I thought Terra Nova might get renewed on a smaller budget given how none of Fringe, The Finder or Alcatraz are doing well (not that TN was going great), plus House ending. Now I'd lean towards Fringe getting a smaller renewal (pending how The Finder does on Fridays). I'm not so sure whether The Good Wife will be moved to Fridays, I read somewhere earlier in the season that CBS haven't moved a drama two years in a row before but maybe they've just had no need before? It's numbers would be good for Friday though if only all the viewers would follow it there. The GCB pilot was alright, it has potential (not that it has long to show it). It could've done with a better lead-in but I don't think moving Desperate Housewives from the timeslot it's always held would've been the best way to go about it so close to the series finale.
March 6, 201213 yr Author I'm really interested to see how the pair of The Finder and Fringe work on Fridays. The Finder seems to have inherited a portion of the Bones audience who have spend 7 years following that show religiously to every time slot on the Fox schedule so it's numbers shouldn't dive too badly and Fringe may benefit from being back behind a Hart Hanson show like it was back on Thursdays.
March 9, 201213 yr NBC Midseason Averages (Jan - Mar) It seems like NBC now has 6 shows they can count on a 2.0+ rating for and I would assume that when 'Parks' returns after 'Office' that number will rise to 7, which would hopefully guarantee 'Parks' its place as #3 scripted show on NBC for the season :D! Its season average is 1.88 for anyone interested ;). 01. The Voice 6.1 (exc post Superbowl Episode) 02. Smash 2.8 03. The Office 2.7 04. The Celebrity Apprentice 2.2 05. The Biggest Loser 2.2 06. Fear Factor 2.2 07. Awake 1.8 08. Law and Order: SVU 1.8 09. Parks & Recreation 1.8 10. Up All Night 1.7 11. Parenthood 1.7 12. Whitney 1.6 13. Are You There, Chelsea? 1.6 14. Grimm 1.6 15. 30 Rock 1.6 16. Harry's Law 1.2 17. Chuck 1.1 18. The Firm 1.0 19. Rock Centre 1.0
March 9, 201213 yr I'd say everything from Grimm and up in that list (not including Awake or Chelsea) is guaranteed another season. Awake scored a 1.6 this week and it can't really go any lower than that... maybe they could pair it with Grimm on a Friday night where that kind of ratings would be really respectable.
March 9, 201213 yr I'm leaning towards 'Whitney' returning - I've not watched it myself, but the fact that it leads the weak Wednesday night lineup quite effectively (whilst not falling too far below the anaemic NBC scripted average) at the moment I'd say it gets a second shot. That said I think its future will come down to the wire. I would say that 'Office' and 'Parks' are the only comedies definitely safe for next season, with 'SVU', 'Smash', 'Grimm' and 'Parenthood' being the 'safe' dramas. '30 Rock' and 'Up All Night' should get renewed, but NBC has some really promising comedy pilots ('Upwardly Mobile', 'New Normal', 'Friday Night Dinner') which I can't really see flopping, so there might not be much space. March 11, 201213 yr Urgh Awake :( I really wish that the episode did not have that final scene. Kind of spoilt it for me.
March 11, 201213 yr Really? I thought it opened the show up to a potentially brilliant new direction...
March 11, 201213 yr Really? I thought it opened the show up to a potentially brilliant new direction... I didn't like it. Really just seems like its going to fall into cliche sci-fi territory.
March 12, 201213 yr Can't believe Family Guy went for that teabag joke in the last episode. If I was drinking something the moment I saw that joke, I'd choke.
March 12, 201213 yr The Good Wife down to a series low 1.7 next week. It's 100% getting moved to Fridays in September. GCB up (!) to a 2.3. :D
