May 26, 201213 yr Klumzee, I suggest going to bed at 11:15pm. (Have a nap before 8pm if you MUST) I am actually missing a friend's birthday 'party' tonight. He knew I'd face a dilemma if he scheduled it for tonight and I told him straight off the bat that he would lose out so he went and scheduled it for tonight anyway despite last night or tomorrow night probably being fine too. :D

Might try it though, thanks Jahq :D
May 26, 201213 yr Some parts of Russia have Eurovision start at 1+am, so consider yourself lucky  I'd say watch Eurovision til the end! 4 hours of sleep isn't that bad really (and you'll indeed still feel shit even having slept for 8 hours). If the race is going to be awesome then you will hardly feel the discomfort of not having much sleep the night before anyway.

May 26, 201213 yr is there seriously no thread on this yet? :o it starts in twenty minutes! Edited May 26, 201213 yr by C.W
May 26, 201213 yr Does Kurt Calleja (Malta) remind anyone else of Ross from Friends? Is it just me? I do kinda see it too!

May 26, 201213 yr Author Wow at some of those! - What happened to Romania in the final? :/ - Switzerland surprisingly close and poor Bulgaria! - San Marino and Montenegro actually got some support! - Netherlands not even close :( - Lithuania seem to have acquired a habit of doing really unexpectedly well in the semis!
May 26, 201213 yr Greece really fell away after the semi. Norway only in the final on the skin of it's teeth. Sweden smashing it in the semi's as well :D
May 26, 201213 yr I honestly thought Bulgaria hadn't got a hope....even though I really liked the song. Very surprised to see it almost qualified.
May 27, 201213 yr From Digital Spy: An average of 7.5m watched Eurovision last night with a peak of 9.6m at 11pm. Previous Eurovision ratings: 2011 - 9.5m (40%) * 5-min peak: 12.9m (64%) 2010 - 5.8m (26%) 2009 - 7.8m (35%) * peak: 9.8m (52%) 2008 - 7.1m (35%) * peak: 9.3m (50%) 2007 - 8.7m (40%) * peak: 10.9m (53%) 2006 - 8.2m (37%) * peak: 10.6m 2005 - 7.9m (39%) * peak: 9.4m 2004 - 8.3m (42%) 2003 - 7.9m (38%) * peak: 10.8m 2002 - 7.8m (36%) * peak: 10.9m (54%) 2001 - 6.9m (37%) 2000 - 6.54m official 1999 - 8.91m official Very decent ratings considering the weather, the football and also the poor result for the UK and Ireland! It'll be interesting to see the TV share, because if it was the weather slightly affecting the ratings, the share should still be high! :D
May 27, 201213 yr Author 10 million saw Loreen win! :D Actually pretty pleasing ratings all things considered, I wonder why 2010's were so low, BGT clash I suppose?
May 27, 201213 yr 10 million saw Loreen win! :D Actually pretty pleasing ratings all things considered, I wonder why 2010's were so low, BGT clash I suppose? Well part of me hopes that it was the significant dip in song quality in 2010!
May 27, 201213 yr I think it was just the whole organisation disaster that year! From the 2 million that watched the UK selection show, to the awful song that won it and represented us - there was no hype around it at all.
May 27, 201213 yr Looks like its time to open the Green Room for 2013! We already have 6 confirmations according to ESC Xtra: Only yesterday we saw the final of the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest and today, we already have six confirmed countries for 2013. First of all, obviously Sweden confirmed their participation. They already did quite a while ago by saying Melodifestivalen was going to move to the Swedbank Arena. It is now official: Sweden will of course be there in 2013. Second confirmation comes from Albania. Mirela Oktrova, board member of the Albanian broadcaster Radio Televizioni Shqiptar, has said on television that Albania will keep participating. No surprise there, seeing Albania scored their best result ever in the contest last night by coming in 5th place with Rona Nishliu’s Suus. Just like Sweden, Hungary also confirmed their participation a while ago by saying A Dal will also be the way to select the entry for Eurovision in the upcoming years. Hungary missed quite a few years in Eurovision, mostly due to financial issues, but they will be there in 2013. This year, they came 24th in the final with Compact Disco’s Sound Of Our Hearts. Belarus is the fourth country in this list. Vladimir Karachevsky, vice-minister of Culture in Belarus, has said that, despite LiteSound failing to qualify, the Belarussian participation in Eurovision has to be continued. He also said they are currently looking for improvements in the selection procedure. Fifth country is Austria. Alexander Wrabetz, general director of ORF, has said that, even though Trackshittaz finished last in the first semifinal, they are happy with their performance. The selection procedure will be discussed at a later date, but a withdrawal is by no means in their minds. Also the least successful country of the last ten years in Eurovision has confirmed its participation: the Netherlands. The country had high hopes on qualification in 2012, with Joan Franka and You and Me, but they failed to qualify. The last time the Dutch made it to the final was 2004. Despite their bad results, TROS sees no reason to withdraw, Peter Kuipers, director of TROS, said.
