I'm a bit shocked that the juries favoured Ireland more than the televoting. :o

Well that's the first time since the 50/50 split that the juries and public have disagreed on the winner! Would've been questionable had Sweden won the public vote though, and Azerbaijan hadn't won either of the jury only/public only vote! The jury vote definitely f***ed us over, but what can we do really? They dragged us up to fifth in 2009, where we would've finished tenth were it only the public voting. And I think Blue coming fifth on the public vote ALONE can finally put this "nobody votes for us because nobody likes us" argument. Obviously it won't, as these lists won't exactly reach the UK media. Well actually, it wouldn't surprise me if they did, but they'd put the "the juries didn't votes for us because they don't like us" spin on it, forgetting the 2009 situation.
Had the all televoting top nine and jury's choice for tenth still been employed in the semis, Lithuania would have gone through instead of Turkey in semi 1 and Austria would have made it anyway in semi 2.

Im surprised Ireland went down so well wth the juries i would have thought they would have hated, also shocked at how the juries voted for the UK, there was no way Blue deserved 22nd, i was sure denmark would have went down well with the televoters over the jury so that is another surprise, im glad sweden did well on all counts though, i still wish sweden had won on the night though.
Wasn't Blue's Jury performance widely reported to be utterly gash? That would account for the very low position.

I've seen videos of it on Youtube and it looks barely any different to their performance in the final to me...obviously the juries had something against the song itself which is a shame seeing as it had been doing so well in fan polls everywhere...

There is one small consolation with this result though - knowing that we came 5th in the televote and 22nd with the juries is a HELL of a lot better than finding out that we'd come 5th with the juries and 22nd in the televote, I'd have been much more mortified at that, at least this proves that televoters will still vote for the UK in their droves when we send a good song, we just need to get juries on board simultaneously and we're off! I'm dreading the thought of us sending 'real music' next year though in an attempt to try to appeal to the juries, imagine if we ended up with some 2nd rate Jamie Cullum *shudders*

Hardly. It's not exactly the sort of thing that juries would normally hate - it just caught us all off-guard as we thought their 'real music' votes would be going to France.
Which reminds me, you still owe me £20 Tom for me to break even :kink:
