June 1, 201114 yr The fact you declare SCHLAGER to be worthy of *vom* renders your ENTIRE EXISTENCE NULL and VOID, and your OFFICIAL DECLARATIONS aren't worth the SHIT they're SCRIBED IN
June 1, 201114 yr To quote VICKY from Woody Allen's GLORIOUS opus Vicky Cristina Barcelona (watch it, it'll change your life), "IT'S OVER."
June 1, 201114 yr Since when did Jark lose his ability to spot a solid gold pop song? Having heard the instrumental, I can assure you Popular does have a melody and a rather good one at that.
June 1, 201114 yr Author Popular has a REALLY STRONG melody. If Jark used his ears instead of his predisposed HATRED for Schlager, he might hear that.
June 1, 201114 yr Author Aren't titles like that usually reserved for artists with a plethora of hits under their belt? 'Eric Saade' (not even a valid name) has had TWO hit singles. IN SWEDEN. He is barely even a LOCAL ARTISTÉ! What sort of argument is THAT? Oh he's only had 2 HIT SINGLES, well it's called being at the start of your career and what odds is it that they were in SWEDEN? Manboy was (I think) the biggest selling single of 2010 and Popular is the biggest selling of 2011 so far. Your point is simply based on bias and nothing more. Vacate this thread and keep your BILE for something WORTHY of it.
June 1, 201114 yr That hand is killing me. Atrocious artwork :| Also, does he really have only THESE glasses?! He's wearing them everywhere.
June 1, 201114 yr Popular has a REALLY STRONG melody. If Jark used his ears instead of his predisposed HATRED for Schlager, he might hear that. A stolen one
June 1, 201114 yr Author Well I'm not going to argue that point, it does 'heavily sample' (ie. copy) other songs, but I don't see what difference that makes.
June 1, 201114 yr I loved popular and if the album was made up of material of similar nature i would definitly buy it.
June 1, 201114 yr A stolen one  The vast majority of songs have a stolen melody, if only because it is incredibly difficult to be original on this after 400 or so years of popular music. In any case, I doubt most people in the UK are at all familiar with Kall Som Is.
June 1, 201114 yr Since when did Jark lose his ability to spot a solid gold pop song? Did he ever HAVE IT?
June 1, 201114 yr LOL I'm not being funny but you're all blinded by the fact that it's SWEDISH which apparently is enough to induce climax regardless of whether the song is decent or not. Yes it's an upbeat electropop song but it's also a shouty mess. I couldn't actually believe when I sat down to watch Eurovision that this was what everybody had been raving about... the chorus is all kinds of awful. I mean it's not exactly What About My Dreams? is it?
June 1, 201114 yr OH and this is Vol. 1 because there is a Vol. 2 coming later ^_^ According to The Saade there was too many good songs to just fit onto 'Saade' so he had to split it. I find THAT hard to believe. I'm with you on that one Jark...clearly there weren't THAT many great, unmissable songs if there are only 11 on Volume 1... As for Popular it's a good solid pop song but FFS it's hardly the second coming!!!! Neither is he for that matter.
June 1, 201114 yr Since when did Jark lose his ability to spot a solid gold pop song? Having heard the instrumental, I can assure you Popular does have a melody and a rather good one at that. Well that's obviously bull$h!t since an instrumental, by definition, has the lead vocal, ie. the melody REMOVED.

I mean it's not exactly What About My Dreams? is it? Darling, if I were blinded by it being Swedish I'd have loved all 32 of this year's MF entries. I very much DIDN'T and there are a fair few Swedish pop tracks which MISSED my CHOIX CUTS playlists so HUSH you xenophobe. PETER, your opinions on the Saade are unwanted also  Popular IS the second coming and shall be soundtracking the Rapture. THAT IS ALL.

I mean it's not exactly What About My Dreams? is it? PEOPLE LIKE IT, YOU DO NOT. The 2 views can exist at the same time. Saying people are blinded because it is Swedish is just nonsense, a handful of tracks on his first album are crap, yet they are Eric songs and Swedish. The fact is, IN MY OPINION, Popular is GREAT as is Hearts In The Air and whether it is from the Ivory Coast or Sweden that opinion wouldn't change.

The only decent tracks from his first album imo are the uptempos. And for Pop music, I prefer Norway as a country and female vocals at that. So being a Swedish Male has nothing to do with liking Popular.
June 1, 201114 yr Popular is the SONG OF ESC 2011 and anyone who denies it must be extradited to Antarctica immediatley.
