I hear you've represented Florina before in BJFestivalen, how does it feel to be picked up by a better country this time?

 

We're honoured to be representing the nation of Ajanaeda, we've been treated like opulent kings since we arrived. If we're being honest, we feel our reputation has been tarnished ever since we represented Florina so we're hoping this will be an opportunity for us to get back in the good books of other countries :cheer:

 

Why should we vote for your entry then?

 

It's a very understated and subtle song with intricate gem moments so we're hoping it isn't lost in the pack of the louder songs. We've overheard the President of Ajanaeda describing Bones as 'the best thing we've ever sent' and we're hoping you agree with him. It's certainly our favourite song of ours :)

Semi Final: 14th (out of 32); 68 points

Final: 16th (out of 34); 109 points

 

We are pleased to announce that Danaelanda have got their eleventh top 20 hit in the form of Mediate's 'What You Do'! It finishes 16th, a first for the country having previous finished in the positions 6, 11, 12, 13, 15, 18, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 31 within the final. We hope to get a #14/17/19/20 smashes soon to fill up all the non-top 10 top 20 positions, although some more top 10s would be nice! Thanks everyone who voted for this anyway, top half of the final is very impressive considering the amount of entries in a contest now.

 

Daehun got their second win with SNBRN - Raindrops (feat. Kerli), which we thought definitely deserved to win as it got our 12 points and is currently #9 in the official Danaelandan singles chart. It got 199 points, just 3 more than FARC who get another second placer with Paulini - Air It All Out (7th Heaven Remix Edit), which also received points from us. Aquafina finish the top 3, getting their first top 3 finish with Max Elto who previously finished 2nd for Hendinia under the name Taped Rai.

 

Aeroche unjustly DNQ'ed last month with the sublime Dusky - Yoohoo (rejects winner okay?) but are back on form with a #4 finish for Sidewalks And Skeletons - Exhume which just missed out on our points, finishing in 13th in our rankings. Kluminican Republic finish the top 5 with BØRNS - Electric Love.

 

We have to go down to #10 to find something else we gave points to, and it is a return to the top 10 for Utopia whose entry Mr FijiWiji - Yours Truly (feat. Danyka Nadeau) stopped Bellamia from going top 10 and also N-Lazone from getting their first top 10 hit (keep trying like Danaelanda did and you'll get there someday)

 

Thelonia officially claim highest new entry with the banging Marian Hill - Got It which we gave a few points to. We can only hope they keep up the quality with their next entry. Also debuting in the final are Taahino, #19 with The Summer Set - Lightning In A Bottle, their first entry, and Ultraviolenceland who've DNQ'ed lots of times and finally have an entry in the final... only to finish last with it. Clare Bowen - Black Roses becomes the first entry to finish 34th in a non-1BF final though so at least she's made history.

 

In the top 20 are Republic of Adonia who entered one of our favourite songs of the last few months Martin Solveig & GTA - Intoxicated, which got 10 points from us and is at #18. Trifoski finish the top 20 with the old but still good Fred V & Grafix - Major Happy

 

Unfortunately four of the songs we gave points to just missed the top 20, they are the entries by #00274E, Terra Avium, Sandénia and Ashton from #21-24 respectively.

Joel Thomas Zimmerman (born January 5, 1981), better known by his stage name deadmau5 (pronounced "dead mouse"), is a Canadian progressive-house music producer and performer from Toronto, Ontario.

 

Zimmerman produces a variety of styles within the house genre and sometimes other forms of electronic dance music. His tracks have been included in numerous compilation albums such as the 2007 In Search of Sunrise 6: Ibiza CD. The February 2008 issue of Mixmag '​s music magazine included a free CD which was titled MixMag Presents: The Hottest New Name In Dance! DEADMAU5 Tech-Trance-Electro-Madness, mixed by Zimmerman. Tracks have also been included and presented on Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance radio show. His debut album, Get Scraped, was released in 2005, followed by others in the next few years.

 

As well as his own solo releases, Zimmerman has worked alongside other DJs and producers, such as Kaskade, MC Flipside, Rob Swire of Knife Party and Pendulum, Wolfgang Gartner, Bighorse, and on a number of releases, he has partnered with Melleefresh. An early 12" single produced on vinyl titled "I Don't Want No Other" was released by Joel Zimmerman under the alias "Dred and Karma". The 2006 album titled deadmau5 Circa 1998–2002 was released using the alias "Halcyon441". He has also collaborated with Steve Duda under the alias, "BSOD", as well as "WTF?" including Duda, Tommy Lee, and DJ Aero.

well no introduction is needed for deadmau5 really, with him being one of the biggest producers in dance music right now, and he produced this song for Colleen D'Agostino's debut EP which is very banging :dance: Big fans of the mau5 would have already heard of Colleen from her being featured on deadmau5 single 'Seeya'. Not exactly the most inspired entry ever with his name involved but we hope people make discoveries out of this

for the SEVENTH time in a row Danaelanda have made the BJSC final, and we get to be in the first One Big Final where not everyone auto-qualified to the final. Also we are currently being tipped to get our second top 10 hit with this, let's make it happen guys by voting for us using the hashtag #Vote4Danaelanda or texting VOTE DANAELANDA to 20 04 2015

 

The bookmakers at DanBet will release their odds shortly but it is rumoured that Persephonia are at the top of their odds. However Danaelanda have topped the latest odds from D'yermak'er.

 

The DISCC have also plans to launch an international poll asking for the opinions of former Danaelanda entries, as market research for the upcoming debut of YBO, rumoured to be a contest in which countries send former entries of theirs.

 

In other news, a televised debate in preparation for May's election was televised last night. The following parties and their leaders took part in the debate, including the 3 most popular parties, named after the colours of the Danaelandan flag, and 2 minority parties:

 

• Tim Bergling (The Orange Party)

• Adam Wiles (The Blue Party)

• Robyn Fenty (The Red Party)

• David Guetta (The Pensioners Party)

• Armando Pérez (The Worldwide Party)

 

In the opinion poll taken shortly afterwards, it was revealed that Tim Bergling of the Orange Party won with a large majority of the vote (as was predicted)

4.1% Blue

3.7% Red

0.9% Worldwide

0.3% Pensioners

 

In Tim's statement he said future plans for Danaelanda included forcing everyone who comes into the country to purchase a copy of 'True' and giving a 10 year sentence to anyone in the country who dislikes his music, both ideas were received well by all viewers.

Colleen D'Agostino ~ Stay (feat. deadmau5)

Semi Final: 3rd (out of 33); 96 points

Final: 4th (out of 42); 276 points

 

In a first, Danaelanda score a top 5 hit, and thus overtaking Pep & Rash 'Rumors' as our most successful entry just 2 months after that got us our first top 10. It is also a (technical) points record, with 276 points scored with the recently-controversial 1BF scoring system, however this translates to 142 points when adjusted for point inflation, which is less than the 158 points 'Rumors' scored, though this may have been higher if there were the usual amount of final participants rather than 42.

 

The winner of the contest is Persephonia, who win the contest for a second time. This time it's with A WA 'Habib Galbi', which is the third winner to be sang entirely in a foreign language and continues the Persephonian trend of winning with non-English entries (their previous winner 'Cry For Freedom' was fully instrumental). In second place is Daehun ( SANNI '2080-luvulla'). The last time those 2 countries were seen in the top 2 Daehun were the winners but now Persephonia have got their #BJSCREEVENGEEEEEEE

 

Unovia (Courtney Barnett 'Pedestrian At Best') finish 3rd with 11 more points than us who sit in fourth, and completing the top 5 are BJSC rivals Aquafina (Audien feat. Parson James 'Insomnia'). All of the top 5 are well liked in Danaelanda, with Unovia just missing out on points and the rest either getting points or being Danaelanda. This general goodness extends down to the top 7, with Ramrynia and #00274E finishing 6th and 7th respectively.

 

Mulgracia (FKA Jamvale) have been flopping a lot recently unfortunately, with many DNQs in a row. They change that now with their re-branding getting them to #11 with Elicit 'I Wanna Be Your Lover'.

 

There were many new entries in this contest's final. They are led by Jadakissnia (Last Lynx 'Curtains') who debut at unlucky 13th although we hope they continue to do well. We weren't big fans of the entry but they are known for their dance and pop taste so we hope they have good offerings in the future. Beaverdonia DNQed last contest but make up for it with their first final finish being in the top half. Preeya Kalidas feat. Mumzy Stranger 'Shimmy' finishes in 18th.

 

Land of DW DNQed for five contests in a row but have now finally changed that and got their first hit. Wibi Soerjadi 'Undaunted' finishes at #24 for them. Newcomers Aprogonia qualify on their first attempt and go to #30 with Elin Bergman - Shoot You Down, with Cor Lupus (also brand new) one place below them with Brielle - Catch A Star For You. The new entries don't end there though and down in 38th; Triangledonia's first qualifier and our favourite song of the contest Diviners (feat. Contacreast) - Tropic Love. Too low. :(

About Vassy

 

Her name is Vassy, an exotic, dark-haired beauty of Mediterranean heritage. Born and raised in the tropics of Australia which influenced and bred her creative versatility and unusual, engaging sound. Vassy celebrates her individuality through her music. Whether it's pop, rock, EDM, indie, dance, neo-soul or Billie-inspired jazz, Vassy learned early on it was better to stand out rather than play it safe.

 

At seven-year’s old she was kicked out of school choir for singing her own melodies and not following along with the other kids. “My voice stood out in the crowd, and I wanted everyone to hear it,” she explains. “I have never been one to follow the pack. I’ve been a loner all my life with my own ambitions.” Those ambitions led to leaving her family, Australia and the comforts of home to pursue her music dreams in America.
