Flume and Moon Holiday represent us in BJSC

 

We can now confirm that we are sending Flume's "Insane" into this month's contest. The song features the vocals of Moon Holiday. Remember to vote for us if you like the song. So far our odds are very low and we are predicted to not go through.

Flume does insanely well in the contest!

 

Until a few days ago, our best performing entry to date was Laurentiu Duta and Andreea Banica's "Shining Heart" which finished in the lower half of the top 20. Flume and Moon Holiday however beat that to give us our first top 15 finish with "Insane". It is also our first entry to score over 100 points in a final. The song itself is a nice mix between electronic dance music, which we are famous for sending, and indie-pop, a genre which has dominated in BJSC recently. Obviously the indie appeal has helped us get high in the table.

 

Les Results: Danaelanda's Commentary

 

One of our favourites of the contest, Zara Larsson with her song "Uncover" represented by Batidas won. We are looking forward to sending our representatives to Batidas for the next contest which will be hosted in April. Finishing the top 3 is "Overdose" and "Smash" by successful countries Fljotavik and Ashton. Those entries were OK but not good enough to score any Danaelandan points.

 

However the entry in 4th place was very good, so good that we had discovered the song months before it was even entered! As big fans of DJ Nicky Romero and DJs/singers NERVO, we are happy for Ojnoj's success with "Like Home". It got 10 points from us. Ghost Beach finish the top 5.

 

The rest of the top 10 is a sea of average, with Mia Martina's "Heartbreaker" and Eli & Fur's "Tonight" being the best of the lot. Aeroche finish 11th with "She's Been High", one place ahead of ourselves.

 

D'yermak'er were predicted to finish top 10 with "Move". Unfortunately that hasn't happened and they finish 13th. However that is not bad at all for a debut (in the final). Utopia and Hendinia finish the top 15.

 

Danaelanda have always been fans of FSR Rontvia's entries. However, despite them entering a dance song it wasn't good enough for our points. They finish 16th without them, one place ahead of the brilliant Trifoski entry "Global Concepts", sang by Robert DeLong. N DNTN with their autoqualifier "Union" finish in 18th. It scored a single point from us. Sandeborg and Espen finish the top 20.

 

Aquafina, a country known for flopping, have flopped again with "Marabou". It finishes one place ahead of Syndare, at 21st. "Marabou" obviously didn't deserve to flop, as it is a very relaxing slice of pop. #00274E finish 23rd with Clean Bandit, who nearly got points from us. The band look likely to have their first UK Top 40 hit soon - however it will be with "Mozart's House" rather than the song that was entered into this contest.

 

Our personal favourite entry of the entire contest finishes in 24th - 23 PLACES TOO LOW. The entry we are talking about is Spor's Pacifica, entered by Persephonia. Mdice finish 25th with another fab entry. The bottom 5 are Unovia, Isconia, Scherzland, Allecian and Terra Avium - in that order.

The first two choices is definitely the tracks I'd consider to send to the contest, more so the first choice. I like it very much but the featuring from Flo Rida MAY become an issue during the veto process. Your third song is quite good as well but it just lacks something for me. Avoid the fourth as it's incredibly dull.

No problem! You should take my opinion however with a pinch of salt seeing as I'm a massive fan of generic female pop so maybe that's why I took a liking to the first two instead. :lol:

The Aston Shuffle Represent Danaelanda

 

In a shock twist, none of the four possible entries were entered! The Danaelandan BJSC Team decided that none of them were good enough to send to the contest. In its place is the Danaelandan top 5 hit "Sunrise (Won't Get Lost)" by The Aston Shuffle & Tommy Trash. Danaelanda is hoping for some points and a fourth qualification in a row, so if you love our entry make sure to include us in your votes.

Danaelandan citizens are not happy right now upon hearing the news that the entry has not done well enough to enter the final. The song was widely predicted to go through which makes the situation even worse as everyone had their hopes up. Fortunately our top 3 songs from the semi all got through. BJSC law states that we cannot reveal what those songs are. We will be supporting our faves in the final.

Les Results: Danaelandan Commentary

 

For the first time in a long time, the country that Danaelanda have awarded 12 points has gone on to win the whole contest. The entry in question is "Look Up" by Carli, entered by #00274E who frustratingly scores 199 points, if only we could hand out +13s they'd finish on a round number. It is the first win for the country.

 

In second place is Sandeborg with John De Sohn's "Dance Our Tears Away", which scored 3 points from Danaelanda. Persephonia score their highest placed finish with "Out Of Yourself" by Truls at #3. It scored 7 points from us. Our 10 pointer from FSR Rontvia, "Platinum Chains" by Michael Woods finishes in 4th place.

 

In contrast to the rest of the top 5, Ingermanlandia who finish in 5th place with "Pumpin' Blood" by NONONO, the name of that band perfectly suits what we thought of the song - scoring NO points from us.

 

The rest of the top 10 is made up by, in order from 6th to 10th, Altyr Muunlinst, Batidas, D'yermak'er, Ramrynia and Aquafina. Two of those entries scored Danaelandan points, those two being "I See You" by Jutty Ranx, sent by Batidas, and "Sirens" by Kelly Sweet, sent by D'yermak'er.

 

Our 1-pointer, Daehun's Girls Generation "Expectation" finishes in 11th place. Eledan and Juranabaijan outdo their odds by finishing 13th and 16th respectively. Debuting country Yehesi were predicted to do well with "Wallpaper" by Staygold. Unfortunately they only finish in 20th.

 

B.a.n.G were predicted to finish highly with "Oh Sailor" by Mr Little Jeans, but thanks to their failure to vote they receive a deduction and finish in 27th. Ojnoj's entry finishes last with 53 points.

So Far, So Good

 

In the first half of the results, our entry World In Our Hands by Quintino & Alvaro is at #22 out of 32. We would be very pleased if we finished outside the bottom 7, however it is unlikely for that to happen according to odds and predictions. Our votes have yet to be revealed.

 

A full summery of the final will be in the next news report after all the votes have been announced.

62 points in our hands

 

Quintino and Alvaro finish the contest in 27th (out of 32) with 62 points. It could've been worse, Kento finished 28th with the same amount of points but we won the tie thanks to more people voting for us. Also finishing behind us debuting country Sandenia, as well as older countries Ojnoj, Bellamia and Sandeborg.

 

Bellamia shocked the world by qualifying with Alyssa Reid, who is known for being massively cheap. Sandeborg score very lowly, and if they hadn't automatically qualified to the final, it is likely that this entry would've been a DNQ for them.

 

Full Results Commentary

 

Finishing in first place for the first time is Skall, with their entry Supreme by Postiljonen. It received 6 points from us. Our 12 pointer, Taped Rai's Epilogue I & II: Shadow Of The Sun represented by Hendinia finishes in 2nd, 12 points behind the winner. FSR Rontvia finish in 3rd with the dance instrumental Colors by Rivaz. It got 10 points from us, making the whole top 3 one that Danaelanda like.

 

The rest of the top five did not get anything from us, Caefryddia are in fourth, and Aquafina scores another top five after a few recent flops.

 

Seyetana return to the top 10 at #6. Bignia-Zaragovnia got 3 points from us, and they finish in 7th. The only song to be sung in non-English in this contest, Envole Moi from Ashton finishes in 8th. Kopecka return to BJSC in style, finishing in 9th with Minnie-Oh. Ms Oh is most famous for missing out on a place in the final with the brilliant "You And I" by 0.1 points, thanks to Aquafina not voting and being deducted in points.

 

Eledan enter iamamiwhoami, also known as yammywhammy, into BJSC for the second time. She is not as successful as she finishes in 10th with "t". She got no points from us this time, whereas "play" got our 12 and famously finished in 2nd on a tie.

 

D'yermak'er finish in 11th. Yehesi enter a great song for the second time in a row and get a new personal best, finishing in 12th with their song "Tonight" by Galavant. Agnetha Faltskog, who used to be in ABBA, finishes in 13th representing Numayania. Espen and Kluminican Republic finish the top 15.

 

Despite "Entertainment" by Phoenix peaking in the official Danaelandan chart at #12, it scored no points from us, as it was cheap and we were favouring discoveries, it just missed out on points. PRoJ, who entered the song, finish in 16th. Altyr Muunlinst are in 17th. Botanikka entered "Mainline" by Tensnake and Syron, it scored 8 points from us and it finishes in 18th. The host country, #00274E finish in 19th and Aeroche finishes the top 20 with a Massive Attack album track.

 

Terra Avium, known for flopping massively, have outdone expectations and finished 21st with their entry "Gimme Sin". Because of the mass support for the country, they are giving away free eggs to those who gave them points. Danaelanda should not be expecting an egg from them anytime soon.

 

Mdice finish in 22nd. Ingermanlandia scored 2 points from us, pushing them to 23rd. Batidas return to flopping after 2 contests of doing well, they are 24th. Fljotavik are 25th.

 

Finishing one place ahead of us is Usfland, they scored one more point than we did. The rest of the results have been discussed in the first news article.
