As much as I adore Kelis, I will be severely disappointed if this happens. Both artists are capable of far better than this, it's so bland and limp. :(

 

I have to agree with this. I had a :D moment the very first time I heard 'I'm Not Alone' (and 'Acceptable In The 80s' come to think of it) as excellent tracks.

 

'Bounce' is ok(ish) and has grown on me a bit but it definitely doesn't deserve to be #1. I genuinely hope Example hold at no. 1 for a second week as it's in a different league altogether if we're going to compare British dance acts with new singles.

Ed is going to be huge, there's so much buzz and he's got the material to back it up too. He manages to appeal to so many people too.

I'm not sure about the A Team... It's very different to the current chart songs, so I'll pretty much approve if he gets top-10, even if I'm not a huge song of a song.

I'm hoping Calvin can get top 3 at the start of the chart show and number one by the end of it :D

I didn't really like The A Team on first listen but it's grown on me a lot - it's definitely sounds very different to most other songs in the chart right now so it's pleasing to see it doing well anyway. Hope it can go top 5 but anywhere in the top 10 would be great.

 

This week and last week have been quite good weeks for new British releases - Example, Coldplay, Calvin Harris, Tinchy Stryder and Ed Sheeran all (hopefully) top 10. And I still have some hope True Tiger could hurry up and join that list. :D

The A Team is a good song for what it is, but I don't like songs from the rock, indie and singer/songwriter genres (unless it's ADELE) and I don't even buy her songs. Ed has a nice voice but his music style isn't of my taste

Yes. And they were the top 2 that week (Calvin at #1 obv). Would be weird if that happened again this week but on the singles chart :lol:

 

Apparently Calvin's album isn't out until February 2012 :mellow: So we'll probably have 3 or 4 singles out before the album. Hopefully people won't lose interest by then... if he can net a Katy Perry collaboration that'd probably help :kink: But I can't see that happening
