There was a discussion in one of the threads this week about which of Lady Gaga's songs was her biggest airplay hit, so I thought I would post a list of her biggest airplay hits based on the audience figures from the weekly Top 100 Airplay charts. It's not 100% accurate, but it should give a good indication.

POSITION / ARTIST / TITLE / PLAYS / AUDIENCE (MILLIONS)

1. Lady Gaga - Bad Romance 98,096 1,831.1

2. Lady Gaga - Poker Face 83,300 1,426.0

3. Lady Gaga - Alejandro 71,882 1,402.4

4. Lady Gaga feat. Colby O'Donis - Just Dance 65,113 1,277.0

5. Lady Gaga - Paparazzi 46,456 793.1

6. Lady Gaga feat. Beyonce - Telephone 42,871 757.6

7. Lady Gaga - Born This Way 48,093 756.9

8. Lady Gaga - LoveGame 9,689 207.3

9. Lady Gaga - Judas 10,131 179.7

10. Lady Gaga - The Edge Of Glory 3,454 64.3

11. Wale feat. Lady Gaga - Chillin' 808 43.7

Bad Romance was also named the most played song of 2010 whereas Alejandro came in at #3, Airplay wise.

I can't believe Alejandro got so much radio support, it's near Poker Face's radio support! :o

^ Thanks for that. :D

Not surprised to see Chillin' last. :kink: And what about songs like Video Phone and Dance in the Dark? Did they just never make the weekly top 100 then?

I'm surprised Born This Way is about to overtake Telephone. And not surprising to see Bad Romance first, although I thought Alejandro would be 2nd. Although I guess it's had 9 months of airplay as opposed to Poker Face's 2 years.

I thought California Gurls was the most played song of 2010 (and Empire State of Mind was the 2nd most-played). Maybe your're thinking of worldwide airplay?

Alejandro was the 3rd biggest airplay hit of 2010 and Bad Romance was 4th. California Gurls was the biggest.

No Eric,^

Lady GaGa has been named the most played artist in the UK for the whole of 2010.

The 25-year-old performer took the number one and number three positions on the most played songs list of last year, which was compiled by royalties body PPL.

GaGa's 'Bad Romance' topped the chart, being named the song most played on radio and in public spaces. The entertainer's second entry came in the form of 'Alejandro', which placed at three.

Alicia Keys took the runner-up position with her solo rendition of 'Empire State of Mind (Part II)' landing at number two.

Plan B was crowned the most played British act with his single 'She Said' named on the list in fourth position, followed closely by Kylie Minogue's 'All The Lovers' at five.

Commenting on the list, PPL chairman Fran Nevrkla said: "The pop songs are truly modern classics, instantly recognisable and a great representation of the British public's appetite in the past year."

GaGa recently set the record for the fastest-selling album of 2011 globally so far with her sophomore record Born This Way.

The top 10 most played songs of 2010 are as follows:

1. Lady GaGa - 'Bad Romance'

2. Alicia Keys - 'Empire State of Mind (Part II)'

3. Lady GaGa - 'Alejandro'

4. Plan B - 'She Said'

5. Kylie Minogue - 'All The Lovers'

6. Olly Murs - 'Please Don't Let Me Go'

7. Ke$ha - 'Tik Tok'

8. Florence and the Machine - 'Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)'

9. Train - 'Hey, Soul Sister'

10. Kings of Leon - 'Sex On Fire'

^ That can't be very accurate surely. I very, very rarely heard Rabbit Heart anywhere last year, for example. I wouldn't even have expected that to be in the top 200, let alone the top 10! :o

That list includes music played in public places as well as on radio.

And what about songs like Video Phone and Dance in the Dark? Did they just never make the weekly top 100 then?

No neither of them made the Top 100.

I'm not even going to attempt to find the thread, but I remember someone posted a chart for airplay in public spaces (like pubs, etc.) for 2009, and The Fear was the #1 that year.
Nice to see Kylie at number 5 on the Most Played Songs 2010, must be her biggest radio hit since the Fever era!
