Good start from JasonDerulo!

Soundgirl should have had their debut single 0.79p like Parade are doing with Perfume! always seems to help even if it's just 20p :L

I expect top 10 with this, top 5 at the most but not really top 3 tbh.
Foster the People's 'Pumped Up Kicks' is now on iTunes. I really hope it shoots up the chart (although it probably will not)

WTF *are* they, anyway?

I can't see there being many new entries in the top 40 next week. Only the new releases.

Jason Derulo is about to enter the top 100.

Not hopeful start from the new entries at the moment, normally at this time the ones heading for the top.10 have made it into the top.100. Guess it's the end of Finish Line being i'n the top 100 :( I think it's done really well though for Yasmin

the only new entries in the top.300 that I could find:

105. Jason Derulo - Don't wanna go home

235. Vato Gonzalez - Badman Riddin (Jump) <_<

:o where are you Parade and SoundGirl!!! :???: they're even behind songs released i'n 2008!

Finish Line has done great imo. It's had good longevity considering it's a British song, not dance-pop and it was held back. I wish it went top 10 though. :(

I think Jason Derulo will still make top 10, despite his poor start so far. I think In My Head started off slowly too.

Parade are #367. And Louder still has 2 versions in the top 500!! :o

I can't find SoundGirl in the top 1000.

And being behind a song released in 2008 isn't that big a deal. This is the download era. Infact, Fast Car is high up the chart, so a load of new songs are behind a song from the 1980s.

Soundgirl not in top 1000 yet

#055 Foster the People 'Pumped Up Kicks'

#105 Jason Derulo 'Don't Wanna' Go Home' :left:

Just purchased the former - never expected it to have gotten off to a start like this. I imagined it more as one that crept slowly into the top 100 around Tuesday and got a low chart position. Could it get top 40?

 113. Badman Riddim (Jump) [Radio Edit] - Vato Gonzalez

Very good to see Foster The People so high, hopefully they can get a TOP 40 SMASH out of Pumped Up Kicks instead of the TOP 100 SMASH I expected. :D

I hope Jason doesn't get to #1 but he does seem to be climbing very quickly now.

Disappointing start for Vato. Hope it can still go top 10... :(

35. Perfume - Parade

47. Don't Know Why (Remixes) - EP - SoundGirl

59. Mind Spinning - EP - Lethal Bizzle

Foster The People 'Pumped Up Kicks' - 53

Jason DeRulo 'Don't Wanna Go Home' - 60

Vato Gonzalez 'Badman Riddim' - 113

Parade 'Perfume' - 226

Bon Iver 'Calgary' - 341

Hard-Fi 'Good For Nothing' - 396

Soundgirl 'Don't Know Why' - 684

What are you talking about? Soundgirl have 271,381 views on YouTube and Parade have 268,815 so infact Soundgirl have more views, even though Parade are better known from their first single, hence why I think Soundgirl will do better. Plus Perfume have a bigger dislike bar than Don't Know Why. Honestly, I don't think you can tell easily from YouTube but you are wrong about Perfume having so many more views than Don't Know Why.

True, for some reason I ended up seeing the total views of another Soundgirl song. Extremely dumb of my part. But I do tend to think the amount of YT views is usually a good indicator. Every single song that reached #1 in the UK during the last few years (Tinie Tempah, Example, Dizzee, Jessie J, Roll Deep) had a huge amount of viewers prior to their release (close to or slightly over 1 million). Same for songs that did well in the top 10 (Wretch 32, Aggro Santos, Professor Green). I'm talking solely of local releases, obviously, 'cause you can't tell when the act is internationally known. I remember when a few people over here were sure Echo from Girls Can't Catch (lol, remember them?) would reach the top 10 and, based solely on the extremely low amount of viewers, I was pretty sure it would go unnoticed. Anyway, obviously YT views aren't the most reliable way but, overall, I do think they're a pretty good indicator. Then again, I can understand why some wouldn't trust it.

Pumped Up Kicks is doing far better than I expected! Brilliant.

From the looks of it (ie. every other major release has an EP in the iTunes Albums top 60) most of its sales are still just pre-orders at the moment. Although I suppose it is good FTP racked up enough pre-orders to get this high! And it only entered at #90 and it's climbed 36 places since then so I suppose that counts for something. Hopefully it'll go top 40.

BTW, just an interesting fact: Parade have an EXTREMELY good P.R. team behind them. They're under the same PR agency as Take That and Paul McCartney. Have no idea why they decided to take them (they're extremely mediocre) but I'm assuming they have a strong management team? Anyway, I don't understand the huge amount of girlbands being released in the UK right now. Like, who the hell thinks there's such a huge appetite for girlbands? The Saturdays are, by far, the biggest girlband in the UK right now and they're not even that big themselves...

Does everyone *but* me, know who they are?

 44. Don't Wanna Go Home - Jason Derülo

 52. Pumped Up Kicks - Foster the People

 84. Badman Riddim (Jump) [Radio Edit] - Vato Gonzalez

 162. Perfume - Parade

:ne: 268. Good for Nothing - Hard-FI

Very promising jump (no pun intended) for Vato there :D Also good to see Hard-Fi now top 300, hopefully they can also get a TOP 40 SMASH. Quite a big jump for Parade too :o And of course another big jump for Jason and a small climb for FTP.

I know, but it was a song from 2008 that has been like "forgotten" and hardly has had any airplay in last month or anything. So I would have expected Parade and SoundGirl to have overtaken it!

162. Perfume - Parade

377. Don't Know Why (Radio Edit) - SoundGirl

Parade well and truly winning the race so far. I honestly think that Parade will chart better now, for the simple fact they are 79p. I think that will be the deciding factor. We will have to wait and see though, I hope SoundGirl can overtake.
