Daehun would like your opinion on our FIRST EVER WESTERN ENTRY CHOICES

 

Please give me a PM if you would be glad to help on our choices, this marks our first time that we are 100% going to send a western song by a western artist into the contest ^_^

Daehun, a country known for only Asian Pop has decided to send a Western song this time round by sending Rebecca Stella's Give Me That O to the contest!

To be perfectly honest, given that it's already assaulting LOADS of charts around the Personal Charts forum and most people were scrambling over themselves to confirm it, I think we can safely say that people on the whole like it.

 

It's very strong dance-pop, and being blunt, you ARE definitely the early favourite. So no fretting about how well you'll do, you'll do well. ^_^

I've seen it in 4 charts! Idk it I'd say it's the early favourite but I expect it to do well! And deservedly so, I like it very much. I hope if this does well it doesn't put you off sending K-Pop though!

Daehun qualifies through after 2 consecutive DNQs

 

Daehun has finally managed to qualify after 2 unsuccessful attempts to crack into the finals in the 2 previous contests. We would like to thank everyone who voted for the track and wish you all to support it in the finals! Commiserations are also given to those who did not qualify through and hope in forthcoming contests, you shall have no trouble in doing that.

Rebecca Stella's Give Me That O sails into the Top 10 coming in at 6th with 130 points. This marks the first time we have entered the Top 10 ever since IU did back in October 2011 and our new personal best score and rank as well!.

f(x)'s Hot Summer is representing Daehun for BJSC XLV!

f(x)'s Hot Summer will represent the nation of Daehun for BJSC XLV. This act has not been seen in BJSC ever since New Caprica sent Nu ABO back in November 2010 which were moderately successful for a K-Pop act. The country's musical president Kim Jonghyun chose this act as this best describes the current weather in Daehun so it was appropriate for this contest.

 

After coming 6th with Rebecca Stella this month, we hope the best for f(x) and do wish for any other nations to come by and pop us a review on how they think of the song. ^_^

Daehun strikes controversy with Hot Summer

 

It has been reported by the BuzzJack Song Contest board that Daehun's entry of f(x)'s Hot Summer was a cover of Monrose's of the same song, sent back a while ago. We are currently awaiting details on whether our entry is allowed to pass through or if we need to re-confirm another entry.

Daehun's musical president, Kim Jonghyun, puts a restriction on western entries sent, Persephonia on Daehun's blacklist.

Kim Jonghyun has imposed a restriction on all western entries sent by Daehun, allowing only 2 entries maximum per year if it's sang by an artist from the western roots. "Daehun's BJSC committee including myself has thought diligently on this policy and it came to a vote of 362 votes against 51 to restrict the allowance of western artists representing Daehun. This is to protect Daehun's local asian culture and to make us stand out from the rest amongst the contest by showing a specific genre in which we send and to not divert us from our original root." The change will be implented starting the next Buzzjack Song Contest.

Protest has occurred along the province of Golee by citizens who feel the country should send songs in which make us fare best. "Rebecca Stella has earned us our best entry so far, so why not stick along them roots? A song should be sent if it has the country's majority support regardless of whether it is K-Pop, J-Pop or Scandipop, especially when it gives our country the most recogition on the international music contest" says Jung Hyosung, a local musician on the province. The Emperor of Daehun, Gikwang, has dismissed this protest as "an invalid reason to protest against the country's music policy". He stated that "anyone who continues further with the protest will be charged with the disturbance of peace and unity within the country and a fine of 500,000₩ in extreme cases".

In other news..


Daehun's trade ties with the nation of Persephonia has been halted immediately due to the political conflicts between Emperor Gikwang and Salim Zosimus. Local news has arisen that Zosimus has been a keen supporter to abolish K-Pop within their country by encouraging illegal downloading instead of direct import purchase from Daehun, reasons stating that direct import purchase from Daehun is too costly and that it has no economical benefit on the country of destination. Royal Sun King (the emperor) has backlashed Salim Zosimus and blasted his actions as "a war in terms of music" and unless this action is ceased, no trades will resume. The borders between Daehun and Persephonia has also increased military patrol with a further 5,000 additional soldiers placed along Daehun's side due to the result of the area being placed under High Security Alert. All Persephonian citizens holding a Persephonia passport are ordered to leave the country until further notice. Aerospace travelling from Persephonia are also forbidden to enter Daehun's territory and if failed to comply, all suspicious aircraft will be shot down by the Military Air Force of Daehun.

DaeNews have not reported false lies, Persephonia remains banned.

Daehun has hit out against the Persephonian claims for the false report on the nation's newspaper, DaeNews. "What stated yesterday along the headlines have been true. We had investigators throughout this process and as the nation's local newspaper, making unreliable and supposedly lies would damage not only us reputation wise but the country itself" states Kim Joonsan, DaeNews' editor.

News of Mr. Zosimus travelling to Daehun has been confirmed as fake as Emperor Gikwang's schedule yesterday was fully booked with meetings regarding the economy of Daehun, as well as managing the selection process for the next Daehunese entrant. Gikwang has spoken, "Only just now I have heard of the Persephonian false claims against our newspaper agency. A country whom who has once wrongly addressed Daehun citizens as Daehunians instead of the proper term 'Daehunese' should already arise suspicion. If at all, Persephonia's news bulletin would be the one in question about all this matter and not DaeNews. Lastly, it is in the responsibility of myself and Kim Jonghyun, our music president, for failing to spot out our latest entry was sent to BJSC way back when the contest started. We have already apologised publicly on this behalf and to ensure this will never happen again and thus see no point in trying to shift attention towards another matter at all".

In response to all of this, Daehun has placed Persephonia on the list of "Countries blacklisted for failing to matching Daehun's acceptable categories" and until resolved from both parties, not only trade will be halted but so will all relations with Persephonia.

UPDATE - Emperor Gikwang flown to Persephonia to talk with Mr. Zosimus admist this chaos

At approximately 2:49am 10th June 2012, Royal Emperor Gikwang has flown to Persephonia to stop the bad blood between the two neighbouring nations. "It's a shame this has come to this as previously us two nations have helped each other prosper through methods of trade. I hope to settle with an agreement once I have a short meeting with Persephonia's leader to negotiate all this matter and settle it once and for all".
