POOR JEAN. I feel like she's on the road to recovery as a character now. She's SO much better when she isn't relegated to pantomime comedy status. Loving Roxy and Lucy of late too.

I don't know WHAT you speak of. I never liked that girl.

Oh come on, 'acceptable'? She's versatile and likeable despite playing a horrible backstabber of a character. Sometimes she's a little hammy but more often than not she manages to raise my enjoyment of a scene and on top of that she's actually genuinely believable as Ian's daughter because her acting technique is quite similar to Adam Woodyatt's.

And the pregnancy storyline wasn't her finest moment - Lucy's always at her best when she's being Cindy's daughter rather than a wet-eyed, 'scared' little girl going around clutching her stomach. With somebody like Lauren it's easy enough to imagine a re-cast. I really can't with Lucy which indicates to me that she's made her mark as a good actress

I don't want Lucy re-cast. Melissa Suffield was great and she needs to be able to return a few years down the line. I say have her fake her own kidnap or something.

Oh Jark.

That must have been at the absolute HEIGHT of my looning. I'm a little more objective these days. Hetti plays Lucy much better than Mel ever did.

Thanks everyone! :D

Oh I loved Melissa as Lucy, although Hetti has been very good from what I've seen of her so far

AWFUL exit for Afia.

Poor Jean and I have lost all respect for Roxy after the way she spoke to Jean. I can't wait until Micheal is exposed. Jean please be SMIRK and take full revenge on the twat.

Interesting spoiler re Sharon's return!

Dennis Jr is kidnapped on her wedding day so Sharon calls Phil Mitchell to help find him. We don't know who the groom is or why Dennis is kidnapped, but I'd guess Sharon's got herself in some deep shit, the groom is behind the kidnapping and Phil finding Dennis Jr will kick off a reunion between he and Sharon.

And click for a picture!

I think I'm really the only one who isn't really that fussed about Sharon? All I see is another inevitable spanner in the works for Phil/Shirley (who surely don't need another one). Beyond that I don't really see where she fits in with the current cast, and we all know Letitia Dean isn't one for sticking around for any long stretch of time.

On current storylines, I'm quite enjoying the Jean/Michael plot. It's been high time that Gillian Wright got a chance to lead her own storyline, and she's doing wonderfully. My only gripe is the obvious plothole of why people are so quick to assume Jean is making everything up. Yes she's unstable, but nearly all those involved are familiar enough with Michael to know he likes to play those sorts of tricks. It was only last year that he was caught out trying to convince everyone that Ronnie was insane, so Roxy of all people shouldn't be so easily taken in.

Roxy, much as I love her (and I really do, she's been an absolute STAR this year) has always been completely and utterly STUPID though. Let's not forget she frittered away three million quid in about six months and had absolutely NOTHING to show for it except a twenty grand car. :D

Roxy has grown on me this year, despite her bloody stupidity, and I actually quite like her with Alfie. Which makes EE's decision to have another

Kat affair story all the more idiotic. EE have always plugged Kat/Alfie as a couple the viewers should root for, and my guess is their intention is to have viewers want for them to sort their differences out. But if they go down this route it's simply going to "convert" viewers to the idea of Roxy/Alfie instead, given Roxy treats him with much more respect and love than his wife does.

On an unrelated note, Afia's exit was indeed SHIT, and based on a flimsy excuse. But on the plus side, I'm glad the aftermath is being treated light-heartedly, because the Masoods were a family who badly needed to go back to being FUN. Zainab in particular is becoming hilarious again. "I see a bike....ON A BIKE!"

I swear the Eastenders script writers are beyond idiotic, I see no reason why anyone would believe Micheal, especially Roxy after everything what happened with Ronnie. That was a AWFUL storyline Roxy losing all her money.

Words can't describe how much I'm going to miss Janine when she goes, I love her, I really do.

Next week there's no episode on Monday and a double episode on Wednesday 8-9pm, with a 7:30-8:30pm episode on either Thursday or Friday, depending on the football!

Here's a trailer for Janine's wedding week! :D Click. It looks amazing :D

I hope this finally gives Charlie Brooks a chance to prove her worth. Janine has basically just been an extension of Michael recently.

Anyone else cringe at the love scene with Max and Tanya tonight? It was just awful.
No I like it, the chemistry between them translates as so real that it always works, at last EastEnders is showing signs of improvement. I hope there is continuous improvement now. I must admit I cannot wait until Michael is caught out, I hate what he has done to poor Jean, thank heavens Kat believes in her as everyone else has just abandoned her.

I did! But you could tell it was going to happen as soon as they started arguing!

It was great to see Jean play Michael at his own game for those 10 minutes or so tonight. I'm still obviously hoping for a moral win (as I seem to do in every storyline), but after three months have passed since the last major one, I'm not holding my breath.

I think there's an episode tomorrow night, rather than Friday if BBC show England v Italy on Sunday (with their other semi final being broadcast on Friday).
