Posted June 19, 201114 yr OCC: 19/06/2011 - Take That Progress Back To Number One and Example Holds Firm Take That’s Progress, the biggest selling album of 2010, is back at the top of the Official Albums Chart today as the band release a two CD packaged featuring the original album plus eight brand new tracks, reports the Official Charts Company reports. Released in November last year, Progress spent six consecutive weeks at number one and has sold some 2.8 million copies to date. Take That are currently half way through their record-breaking Progress Live Tour which will see them play to 1.6 million people and includes an eight night stint at Wembley Stadium, breaking Michael Jackson’s record for a Wembley residency achieved during his Bad Tour in 1988. There are three new entries in the Official Albums Chart Top 10. Paul Simon notches up his fourteenth solo Top 40 album with So Beautiful Or So What straight in at number six. If you include his work with Art Garfunkel, he has recorded a total of 27 Top 40 albums. Hell Meets Evil, which features rappers Eminem and Da Royce, are straight in at number seven with Hell – The Sequel. The duo first got together in 1997 before Eminem’s worldwide solo success and have recently reformed to start recording together again while seventies stars ELO see their greatest hits package All Over The World – The Very Best Of climb from last week’s 23 to this week’s number ten. Jazz singer Caro Emerald is a re-entry as Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor climbs from last week’s 17 to this week’s number eight, its second stint in the Official Albums Chart for Top 10 in a matter of weeks. In the Official Singles Chart, UK rapper Example (aka Elliot Gleave) holds firm at number one with Changed The Way You Kissed Me having faced a mid-week battle for the top spot in the Official Charts Upate on Wednesday when he was strongly challenged by Calvin Harris and Ed Sheeran. Change The Way You Kissed Me is Example’s first ever number one single but if you count all the singles he has been involved with in his career, both as solo and featured artist, he has spent an impressive nine months in the Official Singles Chart Top 40. The Official Singles Chart Top 10 sees three new entries with Calvin Harris’s Bounce featuring Kelis taking the honours for highest new entry, straight in at number two. Bounce is Harris’ eighth Top 40 hit – he has scored two previous Official Singles Chart number ones with Dance Wiv Me (2008) and I’m Not Alone (2009). Meanwhile up and coming UK singer songwriter Ed Sheeran scores a career best with The A Team straight in at number three and Tinchy Stryder teams up with N-Dubz frontman Dappy for single Spaceship which is straight in at number five Source: OCC
