I don't get the comments saying #1 is off the cards for Beyonce. From what I understand, she's been #1 on iTunes since last night - and recent figures show she's 0.11 above Derulo at #2.

It's also a good sign that her daily chart run for the single looks like this from Sunday - (xx-xx-11-06) - gaining 5 places in a day is quite a good feat - and she's sure to climb up to the top 3 tomorrow; I reckon she could steal it at the last minute.

tracks which lose a day of sales are instantly disadvantaged and very rarely make it to the top unless they build a big lead (SLY's lead was absolutely huge, yet it still didn't take number 1 until the very last minute)

she'd need a much bigger lead that that to have a chance, although releasing the video now is a very good move

Sunday is also by far the biggest sales day so any song not available on a Sunday has a massive disadvantage, and it's clear from the midweeks that even though the iTunes chart may work over a 48 hour period, it's not completely linear.

What are all these "The Voice" performances dominating US iTunes? Why are established artists on them?

Is the same going to happen when this show airs in the UK?

Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton (some random country singer) and Adam Levine of Maroon 5 are judges on The Voice, which is a talent show dealie. So the contestants have clearly been doing duets with the judges. :P

I hope we don't have The Voice invasion when the show airs in the UK (which it apparently is) but we probably will :(

The Voice could be good, since our charts are so boring at the moment. In the US, it's propelled quite a lot of older classics up the chart. Even some newer songs by British artists aswell (Dog Days Are Over and Fix You climbed back up the chart because of The Voice).

The resurgence of Fix You, Dog Days Are Over and Rolling In The Deep (I think that first got its really big lead because of The Voice? Then it got a really big lead again because of American Idol a few weeks later - although I might have the two in the wrong order :P) are the only redeeming factor of The Voice.

Rolling in the Deep first got to #1 on US iTunes after it was on Glee, I think. I could be wrong though.

No, it was definitely before that.

Now I think about it, it was AI that first got Adele to #1, as I remember saying something along the lines of 'it's a shame Adele can only get to #1 because of AI'

 It certainly turned out to be bigger than everybody thought.

I remember like 6 months ago people used to say "Adele won't do well in the US. She's too good for them. They don't like proper music. They'll never play her on the radio".

People (including me) were still saying they'd never play her on the radio even after she got #1 - it was after that she became an unstoppable airplay force! (It's even top 100 on R&B/Hip-Hop-only radio stations )

Adele gets played on urban radio stations here too. I've heard Someone Like You, Turning Tables and Chasing Pavements on Radio 1Xtra before, in amongst all the Lil Wayne, Magnetic Man and Beyonce that they play.

I'm not so sure, the Glee invasion seems to be bigger in the US so maybe it will be the same here. I'm also unsure if The Voice performances would appear on the UK feed, XF performances didn't (but AI performances don't in the US, yet TV performances are). Surely having them on the feed can let on to whos doing better in the voting?

Evidence for Sunday being biggest day for sales maybe for a newly released single it is! But I would have thought Saturday would be the biggest for sales. :P

Sunday is the biggest day of sales for all releases (in general)

I don't really have a good guess but I'd assume she needs to have a lead much, much bigger than just 15%.

Probably like 50%. I doubt she'll do it. :(

Beyonce's got a decent lead over Jason Derulo. Remember, he only sold 76k last week and I'm sure his sales will decrease this week - by how much I'm not sure.

'Best Thing I Never Had' still has a chance of getting to no. 1 but would have to maintain its lead over Jason Derulo for the rest of the week.
