Same! 2008 isn't that far back when you think about it but it just seems to have dragged on. I saw her supporting Kanye when it first came out and that seems like yesterday. So hope she tours the UK this time and as a headliner.
September 2, 201113 yr New albums gonna be called 'American Dreaming' Fallen in love with the first album once again recently. Craving some new material so badly!
September 2, 201113 yr This needs to be released already. Her first album has never left my "regular play". You can't have a pre lash / party / after party without Shove It, Creator and Unstoppable. And then Lights Out and I'm A Lady are always good for a sunday afternoon. Santogold sounds just as fresh as it did when it came out.
January 11, 201213 yr Now titled 'Master of Make-Believe'. Back in June, Santigold (the artist formerly known as Santogold, aka Santi White) said she was finishing up the "last minute details" of a new record, and we haven't heard much since. But consider it a good sign that she's at least given it a title: She told V magazine that it's called Master of My Make-Believe. "My record is called Master of My Make-Believe because I want it to be about creating your own reality. I have a song called 'The Keepers': 'we're the keepers, while we sleep in America our house is burning down'", she said. She also told the magazine that she's worked with celebrated songwriter/producer Greg Kurstin, Major Lazer's Switch, TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Nick Zinner on the album. (Santigold, TV on the Radio and Zinner are all slated to appear on the upcoming Amadou & Mariam album, too.) No word on whether "Go", featuring Karen O, is on the album. - p4k Seriously can't wait for this.
January 17, 201213 yr She needs to hurry up now :P I spilt a drink over the ''Santogold'' album a few months ago :( It's still sticky.
January 17, 201213 yr It really has been far too long, "L.E.S. Artistes" was a Top 40 hit back in May 2008, a time when it was common to release your singles on CD!
January 18, 201213 yr cxdQ_uD5IWk AMAZING. I remember it from Lovebox last year too, gah memories. You can get it for free from her website too.
