Ramrynia qualifies for the final in their debut appearance!

 

Despite being one of the outsiders to qualify for the final, Diana Vickers with her song 'Sunlight' has qualifed for the grand final in Ramrynia's debut contest! The whole of Ramrynia was overjoyed at the qualification and look forward to their first experience in a final! We would like to thank everyone who took the time to listen to 'Sunlight'! Also, congratulations to the other 27 countries who qualified but commiserations to those who didn't - we have discovered lots of new artists and songs and we are very grateful.

 

Ramrynia now wishes Diana Vickers the best of luck in the BJSC XXXVII final! :D

No problem, there were too many indie songs in my semi and too many ballads in this contest.

 

I thought entering a ballad in this contest would be good as the previous contest there were hardly any ballads, I wonder if I could have entered it in the previous contest whether would I do any better not :P

There weren't too may ballads in semi 1, but I haven't listened to all of semi 2 yet so I don't know how many ballads there were! Good luck in the next contest :D

Ben Folds to represent Ramrynia in BJSC XXXVIII

 

After Diana Vickers' amazing result in the previous contest - qualifying Ramrynia for the final and finishing 22nd in their debut contest - American singer-songwriter Ben Folds will represent the country this year! His song 'Still Fighting It' was originally released back in 2002, and undeservedly only managed chart success in Australia - reaching #70.

 

'Still Fighting It' is a bittersweet piano-led rock ballad of the pain of adolescence, which was dedicated to his son as you will see in the music video. Perhaps the closing line is the most poignant line of the song: "You're so much like me, I'm sorry". This shows that Ben knows as his son is so much like him, he will have to go through the same pain he went through during his adolescent years - and he's sorry for that. The song has a beautiful message and accompanying video, and we hope he does well in the contest and that the other countries will like it too :D

Its a lovely album i must admit :) I got it for a fiver and it was scrachted, took it back and they gave me 7 pound back , Happy days :L

I can remember it was the first song that leaked from her album, and she gave it away as a free download - I've never stopped playing it since then, likewise the rest of the album when it was released. I hope she releases new material soon, she says she's releasing an EP by the end of the year :D

 

Anyway, enough of me looning about the Vickers! Good luck in the contest :D Both Diana songs that have been entered have reached the final (Boy Who Murdered Love 5th and Sunlight 22nd last

month which I entered) so hopefully you'll get to the final too, the song deserves it :D

Here's my entry's music video, which I'm sure most of you will have seen while listening to the entries. I haven't really seen how well it's being received (apart from it being quite low in the odds and not predicted to go through). I know not to trust these as much as I did last month, as it was the same situation then and I still qualified. But, I'm interested to know what the general feeling is towards my entry :)

 

Ben Folds fails to qualify, but exceeds expectations

 

Unfortunately Ben failed to qualify for the BJSC 38 Final in Farahtyn, after finishing in 19th in the 1st semi final. However, despite being by far the outsider of the whole competition, Ramrynia did not finish last!

 

Ramrynia has a shortlist containing pop anthems which we hope you will like in BJSC 39!!!

I'm glad you qualified as I knew I would want to give your song points!! My next entry is definitely going to be up-tempo, after two down-tempo songs so far :D

I am anticipate it then as I normally play Up-tempo songs during the day and mostly slow-tempo at night (to match my mood at times :P ) hence I do enjoy up-tempo more in general so i'll look forward to what you will send :dance:

DEMI LOVATO TO REPRESENT RAMRYNIA IN BJSC 39

 

We are pleased to announce that Demi Lovato will be Ramrynia's 3rd BJSC Entry. Global star Demi will be singing the title track of her recently-released 3rd album 'Unbroken'. It is a massive pop anthem which we hope the rest of the BJSC entrants will enjoy! We hope Demi will bring us to our 2nd appearance in a BJSC final.
