I'm not sharing the love I'm afraid. If people are wondering why I voted so soon, it's because I listened to everything 3 or 4 times before voting and can hand on heart say that I only particularly enjoyed about five songs. Having listened to all of them a few times again since voting, I stand by my initial judgement. Most of these songs have no effect on me whatsoever.

Yeah, but knowing your taste in music, that's not really a surprise, is it?

How you're feeling is how I quite often feel in BJSC but I still particpate because even getting one good track out of a contest makes it all worth while.

Not really, no. BJSC is definitely more my sort of thing musically.

But likewise, I used to make 2 or 3 excellent discoveries per edition in the CHC Unknown Pleasures' and that's enough for me so I shall persist. I may have 'only' discovered five songs that I really like here but that's five more than I would have done without taking part.

I've listened to all 30 tracks several times (one was deleted after listening to about 45 seconds of it - and no, it wasn't Teengirl Fantasy 'Hoop Dreams') and I pretty much know which tracks I prefer the most. I just prefer to vote later on as my provisional order will mostly change with more listens. I also stand by my own earlier comment that my top 4 at the moment are easily my fave tracks - it's now a battle for 5th-18th place to get my points.

8 songs eliminated after my first round of playlist-editing :(

23 of favourites + songs that I deem to have potential to grow remained.

I find it quite interesting, to say the least, that Pansy Division's song is deemed EXPLICIT by iTunes. What words there are actually explicit?! 'Sexual'? '69'? 'Boner'? 'Homo'? 'Pubes'?

That reminds me I wish I didn't use iTunes but my iPod requires it and I love my iPod more than I hate iTunes. Ha!

Oh I am so glad I've got a Creative Zen. :)

I'm with you Gooddelta - I've voted early too as I only like around 7 tracks... the others I voted for are just making up numbers.

Bizarrely, when you consider that on average ChC was FAR more indie based that Buzzjack is, every edition of Unknown Pleasures here has most definitely had more of an indie feel to it. Although saying that, I guess it's the difference between being posted in this forum rather than the equivalent to the Lounge.

I agree with you Dandy*, the likes of 'Grandstand theme' and some of the other bizarre entries would be even more ridiculed on BuzzJack than they were on CHC

I think the difference also comes from the fact that this is a clear alternative to BJSC on BuzzJack, whereas on CHC it was really the only music competition that we had, so it was a bit 'best of both worlds' in some respect, even though it was obviously still far more 'indie' than your typical BJSC contest.

I do think this is probably the least accessible set of songs yet. I do think the quality at the bottom is a lot higher than usual, but I can't say the same for the quality at the top. Pretty much everything goes together in the 6.5-7.5/10 mark for me, I'm pretty sure I'll keep it but it won't be something I listen to that regularly....

I agree. Nothing earth-shattering so far

I'm so in love with 'Flames' and 'No Love'.

So you have the whole 7 days, 10 hours and 28 minutes to vote people. :cheer:
I've scaled down to 15 tracks now, just need to weed out 3 more tracks, my top 5 keeps on changing points wise its so difficult to place them. I probably vote on Monday/Tuesday night, so I get a better feel of the final 12 over the weekend.

I'm loving the preciseness. :D

I'll send my votes middle of next week.
