'Watch The World Go By' was easily my favourite discovery in BJSC XXXIV and even though that contest is about a month old, I'm still in the process of charting tracks from the final. This week alone there are 15 tracks inside my top 40 that were in the BJSC XXXIV final. :o Oh, and is my chart that predictable? :P

It's had a healthy albeit strange chart run propelling itself into my top 20 achieving a new peak only to drop down again. I reckon there's still a few weeks left yet before this track drops out of my chart.

Oh, this is the first time I've charted anything by Jess Mills. I still check the release schedule but most of the schedule these days consist of tracks that don't appeal to me, or EPs which I struggle to chart as I like to chart one song by itself. At least if it's an AA-side single, if I prefer one track over the other I will chart that song.

One of the BJSC XXXIV discoveries making its way into my chart finally. After the horrendous lead single 'Run The World (Girls)' I really didn't know how this era would pan out. Curiously, I can think of two other examples. When Kelis released 'Bossy' which I thought was dreadful in every way possible, then she released 'Lil Star' as the follow up single and I fell in love. :wub: Then there was Gwen Stefani having released the abysmal 'Wind It Up', she then releases 'The Sweet Escape' which was a golden pop moment. So I'm glad that Beyonce is looking set to do well with 'BTINH' as it's a great track and deserves to do well.

:P I doubt there will be as many entries from BJSC XXXV making my chart compared to an overwhelming amount for XXXIV. The thing is I purposely didn't put my fave XXXV entries into my pre-release chart as that would've given away which tracks I'd given my highest points to before the actual results show.

 

So expect them to start appearing from next weekend onwards. Brooke Fraser automatically has the edge as that's my own entry and gives me a reason to chart it. Just think what my chart might've looked like right now had I not entered BJSC. :o

To add to my above comment, Beyonce didn't quite have what it took to break into my top 8 this week but 'Best Thing I Never Had' will definitely climb up next week (well, I'm thinking this before I actually compile my chart :P ). According to the **HT40S** All Time Database, Beyonce's most successful single in my chart is 'Beautiful Liar' which is Beyonce's only chart topper for me. Of her solo singles, Beyonce's biggest hit is 'Sweet Dreams'.
