July 8, 201113 yr Author 39 - Eric Prydz "Pjanoo" (2008) (+18) This was a third top 2 hit for Eric from the album... oh wait he's never released an album. He probably never will thanks to his recent chart flop 'Niton (The Reason)' which missed the T40 completely. The song itself has a piano in it which is nice and different to all the other songs in the chart. Most peoples of Buzzjack prefer the song that stopped 'Pjanoo' from going number one, it was the debut smash of popular singer Katy Perry llfNRGQ7Tlg
July 8, 201113 yr Author 38 - Sam Sparro "Black And Gold" (2008) (+20) This was one of the biggest one hit wonders of the 00s. BAG spent 12 weeks in the T10, a total that not even ADELE can make (singles ofc) and spent 3 non-conescutive weeks at 2, behind 'American Boy' and '4 Minutes'. Sam's follow up missed the T40 and he's not released a single since. eHuebHTD-lY
July 8, 201113 yr Author 37 - Kylie Minogue "I Believe In You" (2004) (+20) What was Kylie's last number two? It could have been 'All The Lovers' but that was number 3. This spent 4 weeks top five (and top ten) before dropping fast (as songs did back in those days) but did better than previous songs. This was the first single taken from Ultimate Kylie. HZp2bk4YHFY
July 8, 201113 yr Author 36 - Rachel Stevens "Sweet Dreams My LA Ex" (2003) (+21) The debut single of Rachel was a big hit and missed number one on two occasions, both thanks to the biggest seller of the year 'Where Is The Love' by the BEPs. They are still around today but Rachel disappeared at the end of 2005. uFwz3MFIByE I can't find an official video so the TOTP version will do
July 8, 201113 yr I can't find any Rachel Stevens videos anywhere on Youtube. It's so depressing. :( And I prefer Pjanoo to I Kissed a Girl tbh. I like Katy Perry, but I never liked her first single.
July 8, 201113 yr Really pleased those two Kylie songs didn't finish very high, had feared all of her songs would be top 20! Quite a few I like gone but not sure how many I voted for as there were a lot of good songs in the competition.
July 8, 201113 yr Author 35 - Blink 182 "All The Small Things" (2000) (+21) This was the first big hit for the band that was released the same week as Geri Halliwell's third number one. They had more hits including another top ten, 'I Miss You'. Jedward recently covered the song, but it flopped - peaking at 80. 9Ht5RZpzPqw
July 8, 201113 yr Author 34 - K'naan "Wavin' Flag" (2010) (+24) It was Summer 2010 and there was only one thing everyone was talking about. The FIFA world cup of course. The football reflected the charts in June when this spent 2 weeks at number 2 behind other popular footy song 'Shout' and Buzzjack favourite 'California Gurls'. Other football songs to chart were of course the official song 'Waka Waka' which famously only peaked at 21 here and being massive everywhere else. I also got to mention the original '3 Lions' going back in the top ten yet the updated The Squad version missed the top 20  Btw, the version of WF that became popular was the Coca-Cola celebration mix - but there is an original and even a David Guetta and will.i.am remix :o WTJSt4wP2ME
July 8, 201113 yr Author 33 - Kate Nash "Foundations" (2007) (+26) This was the most unlucky number two of the 21st century, spending 5 n/c weeks there and getting real close to number 1. Rihanna, Jay-Z, Timbaland and Keri Hilson are responsible for Kate not getting there. After Kate's fail to get number one (singles ofc, her album 'Made Of Bricks' went straight in at no.1), she flopped with her next two singles (both peaking at 23) and had her last day in 2010 when 'Do Wah Doo' entered at 15 and the new album went 8-39-69-OUT  ryH5cga0yUI Edited July 8, 201113 yr by danielMFAO
July 8, 201113 yr Author 32 - James Morrison feat. Nelly Furtado "Broken Strings" (2009) (+26) This song was massive, spending 10 weeks in the T10 - but no weeks at number one, this was because of Lady GaGa who at the time was new, wasn't a queen of pop and looked normal. This was the biggest hit for both James M and Nelly F (you could argue that 'Maneater' is Nelly's biggest hit as it reached number one - but that doesn't still get radio airplay like BS does) 26PAgklYYvo
July 8, 201113 yr Author 31 - Moloko "The Time Is Now" (2000) (+28) The biggest hit for Moloko was this - it should have been 'Sing It Back' but that only reached 4. Moloko had one more T10 hit in 2003 after this titled 'Familiar Feeling' pkjWwz3kc3Q
July 8, 201113 yr Broken Strings is another one of those songs that doesn't deserve its success. It was made to be played on radio. It's easy to make songs like that. I think Nelly Furtado has done much better, although obviously the songs have too much percussion and rapping in them to be played on the radio a lot...

July 8, 201113 yr glad Rachel Stevens is out early :D never got its appeal I think it's excellent. It has a great rhythm and nice quirky (and very quotable) lyrics. 31 - Moloko "The Time Is Now" (2000) (+28) The biggest hit for Moloko was this - it should have been 'Sing It Back' but that only reached 4. Moloko had one more T10 hit in 2003 after this titled 'Familiar Feeling' Both are AMAZING, although I do prefer The Time Is Now so I was happy it was the bigger hit over Sing It Back. My favourite Moloko song is one of their early singles though - Fun For Me  Broken Strings is another one of those songs that doesn't deserve its success. It was made to be played on radio. It's easy to make songs like that. I think Nelly Furtado has done much better, although obviously the songs have too much percussion and rapping in them to be played on the radio a lot... The irony here being that those of us older than about 16 remember when Nelly herself was a folk-styled singer/songwriter, not a million miles apart from James Morrison... Edited July 8, 201113 yr by superbossanova
July 8, 201113 yr The irony here being that those of us older than about 16 remember when Nelly herself was a folk-styled singer/songwriter, not a million miles apart from James Morrison... How old are you!? :o And I think the average 8 year-old will know I'm Like a Bird tbh. You do realize kids grow up hearing songs from 30 years ago played on the radio all the time? Kids will know all of the biggest (radio friendly) hits from before they were born.
July 8, 201113 yr Author How old are you!? :o And I think the average 8 year-old will know I'm Like a Bird tbh. You do realize kids grow up hearing songs from 30 years ago played on the radio all the time? Kids will know all of the biggest (radio friendly) hits from before they were born. Yeah, you'll be surprised how popular some old songs are with kids. Not everyone has Eminem, Tinie Tempah and Jason Derulo on their phones  But non-radio friendly songs just sadly get forgotten about :(
July 8, 201113 yr Yeah, you'll be surprised how popular some old songs are with kids. Not everyone has Eminem, Tinie Tempah and Jason Derulo on their phones  But non-radio friendly songs just sadly get forgotten about :( Yeah, it's sad really. I don't think I Gotta Feeling and Fight For This Love are the best songs of 2009, for example, (they're not bad, but there was MUCH better), but they're the ones that kids will know in the future. Stuff like that kind of annoy me. Boom Boom Pow and 3 Words are better I think, but they're not in that nice verse/chorus structure with happy instrumentals which radio love, so kids in the future probably won't know them (although I think the people alive at the time who liked them will still remember them). But I hate how people seem to think kids can't know anything from before they were born. Do these people not know that these children live in a house with people in their 30's or 40's? Do these people not know that these kids watch the X Factor, where they have weeks devoted to The Beatles, Elton John, and many other old classics are played? Are these people not aware that these kids watch Friends and Family Guy where songs from the 80's are played in like every episode? These kids listen to the radio, and hear tons of songs from before they were born. When they do those ranking games from songs from the 80's and 90's on here, I'm always surprised to find out how many I already know. I often look at the artist and the song title, and think I don't know the song, then I listen to it and I find out I know the lyrics off by heart. Personally, I'm 19, and my parents are in their early 50's. So yeah, there's a bit of contrast in music tastes in my family. I think the only artist everybody likes is Madonna.
July 8, 201113 yr  at all this from one throwaway comment I made. Only on this forum, honestly... For the record, I know perfectly well people can know songs before they were born/got into music. I mean, I'm the guy who seems to spend half his time on this forum talking about music from the 1990s when I only started getting into music in 1999! My comment was only tongue-in-cheek at Eric complaining about how Nelly's songs won't get played on the radio over James Morrison because they have rapping and percussion in when her first two albums were very much in his style.
July 9, 201113 yr 35 - Blink 182 "All The Small Things" (2000) (+21) This was the first big hit for the band that was released the same week as Geri Halliwell's third number one. They had more hits including another top ten, 'I Miss You'. Jedward recently covered the song, but it flopped - peaking at 80. Most of their 21 points came from me (15 to be exact). I know the youngsters who are just starting out in life don't know this song, but it deserved a much higher place in this list. :(
