July 12, 201113 yr this is a good top 10- very surprised to see Michael Jackson and Bodyrox there, I just don't recall anyone voting for the former  Daft Punk did really well too   I really hope Gorillaz and Take That wins, I know I'm biased as I don't like RITD :P but I think the other two are far more 'classic' than it Edited July 12, 201113 yr by Chart Wizard
July 12, 201113 yr I know people sneer at Cascada beating Man In The Mirror but fair's fair - Evacuate The Dancefloor was the bigger selling and more enduring hit during 2009, it's not one of those unjust cases like all of those mega front loaded #1's holding off Love The Way You Lie last summer. That and ETD is my favourite single of theirs and I was elated to finally see them get a UK #1! It's not really comparable to LTWYL's situation at all. MJ had one shot and one shot only at a posthumous #1 single since its only 'promotion' was his death and the subsequent TV support because of that, but TV were also supporting just about every other MJ song so its TV promotion was very spread out and probably didn't help massively. It was #1 in all the midweeks but Cascada snatched it away at the last second. Of course Cascada were going to be more enduring and higher selling. That was a normal release (a $h!te one at that, but that's personal opinion :P). MITM's 2009 run was not at all under normal circumstances so it very much is a massive injustice that Cascada snatched the #1 at the last second. (This is not my anti-Cascada bias speaking, I'd be annoyed if it was just about anything snatching #1 away from MITM the week after his death when it had been #1 on all the midweeks) If MJ had died just one day later chart history could have looked very different. July 12, 201113 yr Author Adele will win. I hope she doesn't. Adele will probably win but I wouldn't be surprised if TT won either. You've been proved wrong, here is your number three :o ------------- 03 - ADELE "Rolling In The Deep" (2011) (+78) In the US, the song spent 7 (or was it 8) consecutive weeks at the number one spot, an amazing achievement for a British artist. Over in the UK, it was sadly kept off number one by Bruno Mars. This was the first single taken from "21", which is STILL in the top 2 and is number one in the midweeks. The follow up, 'Someone Like You' did much better than RITD - but both are modern classics. rYEDA3JcQqw ____________ OK guys, now we get to the final 2. Will Gorillaz win with "Feel Good Inc." or Take That with "Rule The World"??? Here are the points for the top 5 - it's very close at the top +91 Number One Song +86 Number Two Song +78 ADELE "Rolling In The Deep" +77 Rihanna "Unfaithful" +75 Daft Punk "One More Time" The winner will (hopefully) be revealed at 6.00pm.
July 12, 201113 yr Hope gorillaz win, find rule the world a bit meh for some reason, patience is a lot better IMO
July 12, 201113 yr I'm glad Adele didn't win, it probably is a classic in the making, but its far too recent to be the best number 2 of the Century imo, thats an amazing final 2  hope TT win. but Gorillaz would be great too
July 12, 201113 yr Author 02 - Take That "Rule The World" (2007) (+86) Gooddelta won't be happy. Take That were stopped from going to number one for four weeks all because of million seller "Bleeding Love". The song itself is a manband anthem and proved that Take That were still relevant. It was the last single taken from number one album "Beautiful World" and it came from the movie "Stardust" KII1ruAfvsg 01 - Gorillaz "Feel Good Inc." (2005) (+91) I was shocked myself that this came out on top, I checked the scores many times but this did actually get 91 points (it got the same 15s as RTW but more 12s iirc) Akon's hit "Lonely" stopped this from going to number one - but it got 8 weeks T10 and outsold their only number one "DARE". This song comes from the number one album "Demon Days" pw8PpYBiDsc Thanks to everyone who voted and made this a great final rate. There is no more Ultimate games from here on but don't cry, we now have the annual Record Of The Decade competition hosted by RabbitFurCoat. I've enjoyed hosting these games :D
July 12, 201113 yr A great winner! :D Another good top 3 as well, I do like 'Rolling In The Deep' but not as much as the other two. You've done a good job on all of these and they've produced some interesting results and winners, I hope the people who've took part in this do vote in the annual Record of the Decade competition! It would be good to see more of these in the future, although I'm not sure how far you'd be able to go with it....
July 12, 201113 yr http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c81/RatmanProductions/Bombs/fluttershy_yay_large_display.gif Wonderful winner! :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: Take That is cool too, but Feel Good Inc is a masterpiece.
July 12, 201113 yr really great winner, Feel Good Inc would be a worthy holder of that title ^_^ thanks for these, Daniel, they've been a great series which has been interesting mainly as the results have been more diverse than usual Buzzjack polls :D
July 12, 201113 yr I'm SO happy Rule the World didn't win. It's not terrible, but at the same time, it's really not that good imo. Feel Good Inc is a fantastic song. Really incredible imo. Also, I said earlier in the thread I was hoping Unfaithful would come 4th, and it did! :o

July 12, 201113 yr Aaw :( I like Feel Good Inc but Rule The World is by far my favourite 00s #2, absolutely adore it
July 12, 201113 yr It's not really comparable to LTWYL's situation at all. (This is not my anti-Cascada bias speaking, I'd be annoyed if it was just about anything snatching #1 away from MITM the week after his death when it had been #1 on all the midweeks) If MJ had died just one day later chart history could have looked very different. You say it like they did it with malice. It simply sold more copies in the seven day chart window than Man In The Mirror did  It was unfortunate for MJ not to have a posthumous #1 to his name but Evacuate The Dancefloor spent two weeks at #1 and six weeks top ten so it's not like it was a random flash in the pan thing that came out of nowhere to brutally snatch the crown away! It was a deserved chart topper - it's just unfortunate that it stood in the way of what would have been a more newsworthy one. ETD may have been a 'normal release' but Man In The Mirror got WAY more exposure that week - at least from where I was looking - it was the 'chosen' song by news broadcasts, radio and music channels and I remember it being absolutely everywhere!
