This is the definition of a grower. The verses aren't as dull as I thought they were, and do a purpose of making the chorus sound even more anthemic and epic in comparson to them. The beat in the background is great, and is still summery and dancey without being too trashy and like everything else that is being released at the moment. I agree also, this is exactly what she should be doing. If she released the same old ballad, then people would call her boring and if she released a pure electro-pop record, people would have a go at her for just going along with whats in at the moment, and plus I am not sure it would work too well for Leona. This is a perfect middle ground, it still has classic Leona ballad features that she is so loved for, but with a classy dance element, which works fantasticly.

Well, I like the production a lot (I've been in love with Avicii's 'Penguin' for a while now so I guess I would) - I definitely find it a bit odd that there was no mention of Avicii being co-producer or the 'Penguin' sample (it's surely a sample, it's exactly the same) in any of the early reviews of it though!

The verses to me are so Alexis Jordan-esque...i.e. $h!t. The chorus is wonderful though.

Sums it up perfectly Davidson. They found the PERFECT middle, between great dance beat which is so relevant right now and still kept to Leona's strong point, her incredible, unique vocals. Fantastic.

I agree. It's the perfect progression for her: uptempo but it still sounds like a Leona track. As much as I love Outta My Head, it's so far removed from her as an artist that it does feel a bit too try-hard. I also love that even though the production is so big, her voice doesn't get lost and still soars above it all.

Does anyone else keep getting the urge to sing CRAAAAAAASH IIIIIIIINTO MEEEEEEE at the top of their lungs? :D

I'm listening to "Collide" for the first time.

Up until the 1:46 mark, Leona sounds very VERY bored.

Ugh. I thought it would get better past the 1:46 mark, but she sounds so bored throughout the song... Where's the passion?

I can picture her in the recording booth, with the headphones on, rolling her eyes and singing boringly "we can colliiiide blah blah"...

:(

I didn't want to comment on this song until I had fully listened to it, over & over again. I am officially in love with this.

Definitely one of her best songs. Cannot get over how good this is! Reminds me of 'When Love Takes Over'

Listening to this song through my Beats headphones is the definition of Eargasmic!

About 13 listens in now and I f***ing LOVE it
Definitely better on the third play. I do like the route she's gone down. I can see it doing very well.! Very summery. <3

It's just a nice song for me, i like the contrasting juxtaposition between the some what laid back production and Leona's big vocals.

Can someone send me a linky please? and a link to the remix?

I can't stop listening to it, been to listening to it then putting it on again right after it finishes, and for me:

1. Run

2. Bleeding Love

3. Collide

4. Better in Time

5. Forgive Me

6. Happy

7. Footprints in the Sand

8. I Got You

9. A Moment Like This

For anyone who doesnt know its on Leona's official youtube account on the above link ^

Just keeps getting better. CRASSSSSH INTOOOOOO MEEEEEEEEE! <3

It takes forever to get into the chorus, another verse, chorus, then its over

It just doesn't go anywhere for me.

Uh oh.

This is what Avicii has said on Twitter:

To answer everyone, the first time i heard leona lewis collide was today. I didnt produce it and neither me or my manager could approve it

To be clear im not taking credit for the melody (everything was cleared with penguin cafe orchestra and simon jeffes who wrote the song)

Im just upset for someone taking credit of our idea before i had a chance to release it.

And for the time and effort that has been put into this by my manager and label

Sandy Vee:

@Avicii : be honest, tell the true or i will. I just give a hand on that project. i never steal anybody.i am very disapointed about you.

And apparently:

Ministry have now handed Cowells' Syco team a legal letter to try and stop the Leona Lewis track getting a full release.

Syco source hit back last night saying: "There is zero legal case to answer. Avicii is already credited as a songwriter on Leona's song.

It'll grow on you, don't worry. :)

I was underwhelmed by the verses but once the belting chorus comes, I'm in shock!!

They're obviously just trying to get extra promotion for Avicii.

I have this on repeat now.

To be fair, they've got a point. It is a direct copy of it.
