It's a real shame "Collide" is well below 150k. Really under achieved and isn't a good sign for the album. Hope she can turn this around, the promotion for the song was messed up completely.

Westlifes new single got #32, But it didn't stop there greatest hits selling over 95k last week, Leona as become more of a Album seller then single these days, I wouldn't worry about it yet ''Collide'' was handled terrible court cases, Only one show to promote it, Video a week before! Theres no wonder the single underperformed!

 

Plus by the looks of it now ''Collide'' is being used as a ''Buzz single''

I don't know, I think had the label acted on this quickly they could've minimsed the damage of this, but pushing the album back to next year when the sales are lower and it's not in a great position anyway will be VERY damaging. They need to stop trying to think she'll automatically sell on name alone now, Spirit was a long time ago.

 

'Collide' grew on me quite a bit in the end, but I can see exactly why it didn't do great.

i loved collide but im sad that it didn't do aswell as i thought it would do. hopefully they can save this album with a good second single

Just reading back through the thread and found some of my replies:

 

I'm surprisingly underwhelmed after first listen and for me (I rarely say this), her worst single so far. I really hope after a few more listens I love it so I will do that now :)

 

I can't believe I thought that about 'Collide'! :o

 

I've had a couple more listens and it has gone from 'underwhelming' to 'this is actually pretty good'. So I'm getting there :)

 

Oh, at least I started to appreciate its amazingness! :lol:

 

It took me about 10 listens to start to think this is actually quite decent - and from that point every listen gets better and better and now I think it's awesome! :D

 

Woohoo! 'Collide' really was the ultimate grower, and now my favourite Leona song I think! And it's perfect for summer and so anthemic! :wub:

 

I know it's not very relevant, but I'm getting more confident of Collide getting to UK #1 :)

One of the shopping centres in my town plays this pretty much on loop and it gets so irritating after a while! I have a theory she approached them and bribed them to do it in order to help the song become known.

A great single Collide was and it baffles me greatly why it didnt sell in larger quantities.

I'm guessing she had no links to him other than being sued so probably not appropriate. It always made me laugh how he demanded a credit for Collide yet denied Aloe a credit on Wake Me Up.

Why is nobody talking about the fact that Leona Lewis basically stole Avicii’s song, essentially got away with it without being sued, and is yet to publicly acknowledge his death? Disrespect at its finest.
