Leaving it a bit late though surely??? PLEASE do not let this be another I Got You situation again :(
Honestly I see Collide struggling to get top 10 at this stage. What has it really got going for it? Leona's not got a huge hardcore fanbase and she's not as big a star as a lot of people think. The song is a long grower without much of a hook outside of "Craaaaaaaash innnnnnnnnnnto meeeeeeeee", the video is late and radio aren't on-board outside of Radio 1. The only positives are that a Radio 1 A-listing is likely and the Avicii controversy has drawn attention to the track. So yeah, I see Pixie and The Saturdays easily beating this.
I can see it peaking at 6/7, The Saturdays and Pixie will both be top 5.

Oh I have really gone off this song now :drama: I really gets very boring after about 10 listens.

As for that cover, good God. That outfit, it looks like Leona cut up a childrens bouncy castle and threw it on.

I really can't see this being a big hit, it's quite forgettable compared to most of her songs and lacks the beauty and power of songs like 'Run' and 'Happy'. I appreciate they've tried to take her in a new direction but this isn't a GREAT comeback single. I've gone for #6-#10 - although obviously I hope it's Top 5.
I'm hoping Leona can do a Beyonce and go back to what she does best on her 2nd single and get a bigger hit. I am no fan but some people cannot do dance songs properly and should do ballads like Run, Bleeding Love and Better In Time. If her whole era is uptempos like this, most of her fans will be disapointed and the album will FLOP
I can't decide whether I like this or not. I don't totally dislike it but neither do I love it. I think the chorus needs something a big bigger, I adore the piano backing and her vocals but it doesn't have a "power" section to show her voice and to say THISISADANCESONG.
I do like Collide but I've gone off it rapidly now :( I don't really agree on the Beyonce front as she has plenty of songs that have more of a hip-hop/urban edge and are perfectly great (Diva, Video Phone, Freakum Dress, Get Me Bodied - though she is far better at ballads) but that's a different story. I want it to do well for Leona's sake after all that's gone on, but personally, on the strength of the song The Saturdays and Pixie should be higher. Leona is far better at ballads, but it is nice for her to something different I guess. I think she's better at 'R&B uptempos' like Forgive Me and (to an extent) Misses Glass rather than proper dance-pop. I want to see some more variety on the album though, a few ballads to show what she does best, maybe another couple of dance-pop tracks like Collide, a proper club banger or two (in the vein of All Fired Up maybe?), some uptempo R&B a la Forgive Me and then some alternative/experimental tracks would be great I think. The 2nd single apparently sounds like Massive Attack, Kate Bush and Tears For Fears, so it'll probably be mid/down-tempo and should do well(ish), seeing as she'll likely have an XF slot for it.

this still makes absolutely no impression on me and isn't something I'd want to listen again :( I think top 5 at best for this now, there's way too much competition that week anyway

I didnt realise how close 4th Sep is now, only 2 weeks to go. I wonder when they'e planning on putting the video out there..

I think with the looks of things Leona may not peak on her first week, it may be a climber instead of a song that peaks first week and then falls, not sure we'll see.

One of the worst of this year and this is hard... WTF is this, BAD loop, too much club sound and I don't know what else... top 3 for sure though.

I don't think the song is that bad, but I agree with that.

It pisses me off so much when I watch interviews of artists such as Leona, Kelly Rowland, The Saturdays, etc, and then you hear them say things like "On my next album, I thought I'd experiment a bit more with dance music". Why, WHY would you do that? :puke: They're basically saying "I want to make generic Britney/Madonna music for my next album", just word it so it sounds better.

Or, in the case of leona, maybe she wants to experiment to show she's more than a ballad singer... seems that she's damned either way... do ballads and she's a boring one trick pony... try something different and she's jumping on the dance / club bandwagon... i guess thats what comes after huge success... sadly, she'd stand more of a chance if she was coming back after a major flop (and i mean major, not echo! lol) thats the only time i think the general public will give her a break!

Having said all that, she still gets a reaction, and people talking about her (even negatively) at least keeps her relevant/known :-)

Well, I think back in 2007, when there was a lot more variety in the chart, she could've done that, and I wouldn't have complained.

But I'd have a lot more respect for her if she released something like Bleeding Love now, since it's a risk to release something like that nowadays, and she'd stand out as unique.

What would be really nice would be if she released something that wasn't a ballad or dance. There is so much more to music than that. I'd love her to make a RnB slow jam.

You mean like Let Me Love You by Mario, or Burn by Usher. The charts could do with something like that. Everything else has a tempo of 130 bpm. :drama:
