Is Nicole Scherzinger in the top 1000 on iTunes by any chance?

Only Right There at #495.

Do people think Rihanna will get to #1 on iTunes soon? I think she did straight away with Only Girl, but it never had a big lead, and took like 3 months to actually get the #1 officialy. And the thing is, that was following Love the Way You Lie, which everybody loved. Cheers isn't quite as popular.

She has a big splash ad on the iTunes frontpage, but I'm not sure how the yanks will react to the very generic British dance sound.

Well, it's not exactly 'generic' in the USA. How many other UK dance artists have crossed over to the USA?

I downloaded the song, but it's quite bland for me -_-

It seems that as Adele could end up overtaking Maroon 5 and regain the #1 spot in US iTunes, the new Rihanna single could come along and take it all away as it's racing up iTunes.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if 'We Found Love' debuted at #1 next week on the Billboard Top 100. :o Would this also be the first time Calvin Harris has had a hit in America?

I think if 'We Found Love' can get to at least a 100% lead and hold it, it may have a very small chance at entering at #1. But I think an entry at 3 or 4 (like 'She Will') is more likely.

I also don't know what the download tracking week is and whether WFL lines up well with it or not.

And yes, this is Calvin's first US hit. I'm hoping if WFL is massive Calvin could maybe have some success with his own stuff in the future, but I'm not holding my breath on that.

I can't see We Found Love debuting there either. I know What's My Name? did (kind of), but that was a completely different situation. It was following Only Girl and Love the Way You Lie, rather than Cheers and two flops, Man Down and California King Bed, and it leaked 2 weeks before it was released. The song got spread around really fast, and radio were even playing the leaked version, so it was a bit frontloaded (it dropped 1-7 iirc, because I compared it to The Club is Alive at the time, and people didn't take it very well ). And also, What's My Name? is the sort of thing the US lap up. It's black music. Only Girl and We Found Love are European songs, basically.

It should do well though, nonetheless. I don't think the song is as strong as Only Girl, but I think it could be about as big as Till the World Ends was (which is good enough).
