Posted July 16, 201113 yr With the huge battle of the girls that week, who could come out on top? I think: 1. Leona 2. Pixie 3. Example 4. Ed Sheeran 5. The Saturdays swcULf1ATyU s7sG2Ebnn6A PWn37lqpqXc Edited August 7, 201113 yr by aprilj
July 16, 201113 yr 1 - Leona Lewis (I don't want her at number one but I've got a bad feeling it'll happen) 3 - Pixie Lott (I think she could do well with this) 5 - The Saturdays (assuming they've learnt their lesson well/not doing OA/OS) 10 - The Sugababes (why are they still relevant ) I would prefer some random song to appear from nowhere and take number one as I like none of these songs, but that doesn't look likely to happen :(
July 16, 201113 yr Other, I don't think any of these will get to number 1 atm, maybe I'll change my mind nearer the time, but I don't think any of these are the huge chart stars they once were - all have 'peaked' commercially, and surely something else would've crawled out of the woodwork by this time I think Leona will chart top 3, Pixie and Saturdays between 4 and 7, Sugababes 8-10 I sense I will have to avoid the Itunes thread for this week though :kink:
July 16, 201113 yr Why are "Sugababes" even mentioned in this thread? Does anyone seriously think of them as a genuine contender for number one that week? We might as well put Patrick Wolf in that poll if that's the case...
July 16, 201113 yr Didn't we already have a poll on this topic? Anyway, I said 'other'. Leona at 2 or 3, Pixie and The Sats around the 4-7 mark and Sugababes low top 10 if they're lucky. Edited July 16, 201113 yr by Bré
July 16, 201113 yr You can't really judge this yet until we get to hear Freedom and All Fired Up's full studio versions, but out of the other 2 I think Leona will chart highest :)
July 16, 201113 yr We have not even heard All Fired Up Yet? Anyway, I think Pixie will win. I think Leona will do reasonable well with this single but I think she's more album material!
July 16, 201113 yr Sugababes & Saturdays have no chance. I think Pixie Lott will win this battle. B) EDIT: I don't like her new look in the video. :( Edited July 16, 201113 yr by Jason
July 16, 201113 yr Songs are back to being repressed again. Like they should be to an extent. This should be the biggest chart battle since Beyonce Vs. Britney Vs. Leona Vs. Alesha Vs. Christina in 2008.
July 16, 201113 yr This should be the biggest chart battle since Beyonce Vs. Britney Vs. Leona Vs. Alesha Vs. Christina in 2008. That wasn't a battle at all... and neither is this really. A chart battle is something like Joe vs. Rage or Chipmunk vs. Jessie vs. GaGa.
July 16, 201113 yr I'm not really sure there will even be that chart battle, since it's 1.5 months until release, and I'm sure some of these songs will be held back / pushed forward. And basically people judge the positions of the songs on artists' profiles rather than on the songs themselves.
July 16, 201113 yr Other. I suspect many of you are going to be deeply disappointed come 4th September. Leona is most likely to do well as I reckon 'Collide' will be more eagerly awaited than the new Sugababes single. However, 'Collide' just doesn't scream #1 to me - even 'Happy' had something special about it on first listen. Pixie Lott might go top 10, maybe top 5 if she's lucky. If Sugababes do scrape into the top 10 I reckon they will drop heavily down the chart the following week. Finally, The Saturdays - even without hearing the song - I just don't see them ever getting a #1 single. Whatever is likely to be top 5 the previous week are more likely to hold a couple of these out of the top 5 this week. That's my prediction anyways.
July 16, 201113 yr Yeah I dont see this as a battle. Leona is the only contender i'd say, Pixie may go top 5, Sugababes/Saturdays may get low top 10. This wont be a 'diva' battle. It'll probably be a battle between Leona and a older song, maybe released a week or two before. Its very early to state which one anyway, with no idea of how radio and tv will support them, and without official video's for all 4.
July 16, 201113 yr I think Pixie has the strongest song from what I have heard so far, I think if she gets good promotion she has the best chance of getting No 1.I think Leona and The Sats will go Top 10 and the Babes possibly Top 15.
July 16, 201113 yr I'll vote when I've actually heard All Fired Up. As of now I'd say Leona top 3. I don't think Pixie will do that well, the song itself is pretty crap imo and going by how badly she flopped with Broken Arrow/Can't Make This Over.. not good. I think Freedom may surprise us all, it's such a tune!
July 16, 201113 yr It'll be Leona.....funny how this will co-incide with the new X-Factor series starting. Plus Cowell has rigged it.
July 16, 201113 yr It'll be Leona.....funny how this will co-incide with the new X-Factor series starting. Plus Cowell has rigged it. You really over-estimate Simon Cowell's power. Also live shows dont start till sometime in October, so we wont have a live performance of 'Collide', maybe a few weeks after release but it may be in time for her second lead single with her album out in November. :D Edited July 16, 201113 yr by Karma
