Welcome back to FSR Rontvia and our wonderful second city of Klurren. The contest is coming to you live this month from the Royal Rontese Palladium and Queen Llorenna is expected to be in attendence for both the semis and the finals of this high quality affair. My name is Ricardo Delta, your esteemed host for this month, tasked with presenting the results of both shows.

Without further ado, it's time for the grand unveiling of this month's entries! 48 countries are participating this month, the highest in a while - seeing as it's an even number, there will be no Auto Qualifiers and nobody required to vote in both semis. There are 24 songs in each semi and 14 will progress from each of these to the grand final, making a total of 28. Therefore we shall sadly be saying goodbye to 20 of these entries before the next stage. The semis have been chosen at random by our sponsor Random.org, so blame them if you're not happy with your draw/company!

Everyone MUST vote in their own semi-final (and only their own semi-final) by awarding points to their top ten favourite songs: 12 points for their favourite, 10 for their second favourite, and then 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 points for the rest. You cannot vote for your own entry. Please send your votes, by PM, to the host - gooddelta! You have until 11.59pm on Friday 29th July to do so, that's a whole week Bray, so please ensure that you do! Failure to vote will result in a 33% deduction from your total score and failure to vote in the final, I hear, will have more severe consequences - which I'm sure the mods will fill us in on in due course!

The results should take place on Saturday July 30th at around 7pm if everything goes to plan. If anything changes I shall inform you as soon as possible. The final will begin soon after the semi results are announced.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to hearing my semi finals (especially the Kluminican Republic entry as it's been high on some peoples charts and apparently it's dance - I haven't heard it yet)

I thought Witchcraft might get vetoed too :o I guess they're not 'Buzzjack friendly' artists like the three acts that got vetoed were but it was a top 40 hit quite recently. I think the Faithless song was a top 50 hit too, athough that was from quite a few more years back.

How DID that not get veto'd?! I'd be interested to know what the other 3 veto'd songs where and how they compare.

Fervorosia are a returning nation who have competed a few times before - welcome back to them but I doubt they expected such controversy over their entry :o

Witchcraft is hardly THAT cheap. I hadn't heard it until now - I knew of its existence, but yeah. It's not really on a level with Alexandra Stan etc, any hype there was for it is long since gone.

Yep, I was banking on an HQ version of the song leaking so I could create 'Not Following 2.0' as I also have the Ellie MP3 of the song too. But there still isn't an HQ available :/

 

It would have been a bit 'been there done that' though I guess, I found something I liked more in the end - well I found about 4 songs I liked more actually, it was a case of seeing which ended up highest in my personal chart and therefore I liked the most to want to send.

Quite. Just because a song has made the top 40, it doesn't necessarily mean it'll be veto'd as this is BJSC and not Unknown Pleasures. Songs that are more likely to be barred are usually up and coming releases that are set to be big/get a lot of hype on the forum, or are currently getting a lot of attention thus producing a risk of having an undeserved landslide victory.

I changed my track in the end, just like to say thanks to Matt for his recommendation, but I found something better in the end, as I was stuck for a track to submit.
