Havent liked any of these films :(
Me neither, I find them ridiculously boring. I didn't even get the huge fuss with the first film.

-_- i still have not seen the Second!

the first one was a load of poo anyway

Edited by Gaga for Glee!

I know people find these cheesy, boring, predictable or whatever but I genuinely find them terrifying! I hate paranormal/ghosts and stuff, but I just HAVE to watch them as it's what this sort of genre SHOULD be doing.

I'M EXCITED!! (or scared!)

Every trailer of these films has scared me on the first watch now. Oh my goodness I jumped a mile with the Bloody Mary scene. I have to see this!

I found the first film terrifying when I first watched it, due to the fact that I knew hardly anything about the film, just that it was getting a lot of buzz. When I re-watch it now though, it doesn't scare me much at all, but I can still appreciate that it’s a well paced and done spook flick.

The second on the other hand was far too long (I saw the unrated/uncut version I think) and dull, and the series has already fallen into a predictable pattern that zaps a lot of the dread. I hated how they tried to give some really eye rolling exposition as to why they’re being haunted, which killed a lot of the fear I had about the demon; it was terrifying because it was random, unstoppable, unexplained. I did think the dragging sequence was as effective in the sequel as it was in the first though; it was a disturbing moment seeing the mum try and get to her son while being dragged violently into the basement.

Katie remained as adorable as she was in the first film and her sister was almost as likeable as well, and I was actually routing for the possessed Katie when she snapped her SOB brother-in-law's neck; why in these films are all the husbands dicks?

as excited as i am for this, that trailer was not scary in the SLIGHTEST. (anyone else think that the shadow looked like an older katie and not a demon as well?)

This..

and i thought that when i first watched it as well :P

Why? What is the point in all of this? Where can they go with this off the back of the first two films? This is utterly nonsensical James...

If you watch the first two films they clearly explain this demon has been following them their whole life. So this is a prequel showing us how it all began by the look of it. Looks quite good actually.

Would you be interested in participating in a Paranormal Activity Character Rate (assigning characters a score between 0 and 10 dependant on your preference towards them)?! If so I'll try and organise one sometime soon..

That sounds interesting so I don't see why not :) Great idea ^_^

I would like to point out, I actually gave the second one a chance last night. What a waste of time that was.

At least the first one was genuinly scary, the second was so forced with all the same tricks as the first...

I thought the first one was terrible, and when i heard the second one was coming out i was sure it would flop, im truly stunned they have manage dto milk a third one out of it, i genuinly think the first one wa sone of the most boring and unscary movies i have ever seen.
WHAT?! It annoys me when I see people say that the first was "boring" :( I found the build up and the suspense to be done perfectly. It definitely got me bricking it everytime it went to night mode. I loved the idea of it getting worse and worse.

I agree - but they executed it so poorly in the second one. Really awful. In alll honesty I don't even see where a third will go (I know it's a prequel but it looks set to bring nothing new to the franchise).

I don't really like watching horror films... because it plays in my head for like three days... lol... I've never seen this movie before. I've heard of a lot of raves about this but just reading your comments made me think if it's even worth watching. lol

I really, really loved Paranormal Activity 3, It as usual did scare me and made me jump and everything linked perfect. Although there's one question that I need to ask as I remain confused about

Why was The Gran possessed? Someone mentioned something about a deal she made, I really can't remember and would love to hear explanations

Saw this today and thought it was royally awful. I didn't know what to expect as I didn't watch the first two (although as they was backwards, you don't really need to, apart from the end, which got explained to me) but I was literally about to tear my eyes out with boredom and despite a few jumps here and there, I thought it was disappointingly unscary.
