The first image of Lily Collins as Snow White got released earlier today at Comic Con!

A dark twist on the classic fairy tale, in which Snow White and the seven dwarfs look to reclaim their destroyed kingdom.

Starring Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen and Sean Bean as The King.

Hopefully this will be done right and won't be just another 'Alice In Wonderland'... But we shall see.

I love the Brothers Grimm's tales, and I think in general fairy tales lend themselves well to film adaptions (very visual, imaginative, short), but there's another Snow White adaption being made atm too, so it's getting a bit crowded. I would love to see someone tackle another Angela Carter Bloody Chamber story though.

So there are two different Snow White's being released around the same time..? I just saw photos of another one with Kristen Stewart as Snow White (vom) that's coming out soon too.

Cannot stand Kristen Stewart but this looks/sounds far more interesting.

From the look of the promotional images released from both films, they look like they'll be going in complete opposite directions. Though I doubt I'll watch either tbh.

Kristen Stewart! I will be watching the movie with her in for sure!
Julia Roberts
What's the reason for the influx of Snow White films? Has the copyright recently run out or something?

Having seen Kristen Stewart in a few non-Twilight things, I can actually say she's a pretty okay actress (she's really good as Joan Jett in The Runaways, getting the attitude and mannerisms right, it's a shame she's let down by a pretty bad script...), out of the two films, I'm more interested in Snow White and the Huntsman...

But, "dark" versions of Snow White have been done before.... Snow White- Tale of Terror was pretty good, Sigourney Weaver certainly made an excellent Evil Queen...

Charlize Theron can do no wrong in my eyes, so I am so looking forward to her being the queen. This looks great so far

This is called Mirror, Mirror now and the trailer's out:

INTERESTING. I didn't realise they were going down the comedy route and I'll probably prefer Snow White & the Huntsman but this looks entertaining too. Julia is going to be as heavenly as ever.

Both films look brilliant, I'm definitely going to go and see both of them.

Having seen both trailers, and judging purely by those, Snow White and the Huntsman looks likely to rip Mirror Mirror a new one... "..Huntsman" Definitely has more edge to it...

But, at the moment, I'm really enjoying the series Grimm. A quite cool post-modernist take on the fairy tales...
