July 23, 201113 yr Mr. Blobby is easily one of the worst things I've ever seen or heard :puke2: How could the kids love that disgusting monster?
July 23, 201113 yr 'Lean on me' 'Baby Cakes' did 'From Paris to Berlin' get to #1? Every JLS song, and X Factor 'Heros'. They kept Ellie from getting #1 and with an absoloutley horrendous cover of a horrendous song.
July 23, 201113 yr did 'From Paris to Berlin' get to #1? No it didn't, but I really liked that song myself.
July 23, 201113 yr Not the worst #1 but easily the biggest non-entity of them all for me would be Wonderful by Ja Rule, R Kelly and Ashanti. I have a very patchy memory of the song despite hearing it about 10-20 times I should think, mainly because it's utterly forgettable. Not the worst #1 in quality, but definitely not deserving of the accolade of being a UK #1. At least with the novelty songs you could appreciate that kids were sending them up to the top of the charts and enjoying them, who on earth bought Wonderful, and why?
July 23, 201113 yr well when you only need 23k to get No 1 then "niche" acts getting chart toppers is always an issue :D
July 23, 201113 yr who on earth bought Wonderful, and why? Likewise, who on earth bought 'I Feel You', and why? The most bland piece of "music" I've ever heard. I don't even think a Euphoric trance mix could even save this song.

July 23, 201113 yr "I feel You" is a prime example of what I call a "Momentum" No 1, he had such a following of the back of the previous two chart toppers it was a chart topper because it was Andre rather than a good record IMO Does that mean all of Westlife's UK #1 singles were "momentum" too? :D One reason why 'Can We Fix It?' will always be an excellent no. 1 single. 'Can We Fix It?' or ** shudders ** 'What Makes A Man'? Clearly the better song won the Xmas battle in 2000. ^_^
July 23, 201113 yr Not the worst #1 but easily the biggest non-entity of them all for me would be Wonderful by Ja Rule, R Kelly and Ashanti. I still adore that song. I love Ashanti in it (Ashanti  )
July 23, 201113 yr Btw, I know Westlife have a lot of boring songs, but was it really that annoying that they got all those #1s? I imagine they were probably all really frontloaded aswell. It's not like they stayed around for ages or anything. I dunno, it just seems like not a big deal to me really, so I find it strange that people hate them so much because of it.
July 23, 201113 yr I could probably compile you a top 100 of the worst number ones ever faster than a list of the best. There's been some atrocious crap at the top of the charts. For now I'm going to go for Cliff Richard - Millennium Prayer but I'm sure I could find worse.
July 23, 201113 yr Example said in an interview a while back that getting #1 wasn't important - it was just the idea of the music being avaliable and downloaded by fans that makes artists happy. He then went on to say that 'Changed the Way You Kiss Me' getting #1 wasn't an achievement as Bob the Builder could get #1 - so it's not a battle of quality. Ever since this, I've looked at the #1 completely differently and don't much care for whatever reaches the summit. For the purpose of the discussion though, Bob the Builder, 'Is This The Way to Amarillo?' and Crazy Frog have stuck with me as awful #1 singles. More recently: JLS 'The Club is Alive', Dizzee Rascal 'Dirtee Disco' and Bruno Mars 'The Lazy Song'.
July 23, 201113 yr I could post a very long list of #1s I hate, but one that sticks out that I can't stand is the 2009 Christmas #1, 'Killing In The Name'.

And yet people still accuse him of being 'full of himself' for getting #1.
July 23, 201113 yr C'est la vie, Saturday Night, Mmmbop, Babycakes and The Club is Alive are the worst 5. I'm surprised songs like barbie girl, it wasn't me and any robson and jerome song havn't been mentioned!
