July 23, 201113 yr Author We share four number ones! I wonder if you can guess which? :P :o These two for sure; Robyn - With Every Heartbeat Little Boots - Remedy and then Groove Armada feat Mutya - Song 4 Mutya? Robyn - Be Mine? Although I'm thinking that The Pipettes may have been one now, but I'm not sure if Dirty Mind went to #1 for you...
July 23, 201113 yr 3/4 - Close! Gnarls Barkley was the other. Be Mine is Robyn's second smallest hit for me, peaking at a paltry number 3! :P Although I'm finding it hard to see Call Your Girlfriend going higher than 4. I find it odd that this is the third year in a row I've found the strongest time of the year for the number of truly great singles to be in the summer (June/July) and in all three Robyn has been a part of that. It has meant that some fantastic songs which I adore end up peaking at #3-5 when they'd make number one at other times.

It was actually a #4 hit for me originally in 2006 before she made it big again here but the eventual UK release pushed it to a new peak of #1 in early 2008  Robyn's been consistent at getting top ten hits in my chart (although CYG has gone no higher than #11 so far!) but only has two #1's surprisingly. Other top ten hits of hers for me that I can recall are In My Eyes (#2), The Girl & The Robot (#4), Dancing On My Own (#4), Time Machine (#4), Dream On (#4), Handle Me (#5), Hang With Me (#7), Indestructible (#9) and Caesar (#10). My chart started a year too late to include her 1998 singles - pretty sure Show Me Love would have been a top 3 at least though! We share 18 #1s :o Wow, that's rather a lot, although your chart is 'older' than mine isn't it so I guess there was more time to accumulate shared #1's!
July 23, 201113 yr Author We share 43 number ones :heehee: Definitely not surprised at that with all of the Eurovision/Melodifestivalen shared #1's for a start! :D
July 23, 201113 yr Definitely not surprised at that with all of the Eurovision/Melodifestivalen shared #1's for a start! :D Surprinsgly, only a handful were Eurovision/MF related - Ruslana, Scooch, Alcazar, Timoteij and Sara Varga :o
July 23, 201113 yr Author Surprinsgly, only a handful were Eurovision/MF related - Ruslana, Scooch, Alcazar, Timoteij and Sara Varga :o Wow! And what a quintet :kink: Was My Number One/Invincible/Hero not #1's for you? :o
July 23, 201113 yr Surprisingly, we only share six! :o Although if I started my chart a year earlier, I expect there'd be at least 3 or 4 or your chart-toppers that would've topped mine also.
July 23, 201113 yr Author Surprisingly, we only share six! :o Although if I started my chart a year earlier, I expect there'd be at least 3 or 4 or your chart-toppers that would've topped mine also. When did your chart start? Jan-June the top of my chart is almost always dominated by an array of unknown songs, Eurovision entries or Eurovision national final songs, and then July-December I'm more of a slave to the charts/mainstream for whatever reason - presumably because more of the big/interesting acts tend to release in the latter half of the year! With that in mind, J.Lo did amazingly well to get a 3 week #1 in April when I'm completely preoccupied with ESC hysteria!
July 23, 201113 yr Wow! And what a quintet :kink: Was My Number One/Invincible/Hero not #1's for you? :o Indeed :kink: Nope. In hindsight Invincible and Hero should have been, but both peaked at #8 and #3 respectively. My Number One peaked at #18 :o
July 23, 201113 yr Author Indeed :kink: Nope. In hindsight Invincible and Hero should have been, but both peaked at #8 and #3 respectively. My Number One peaked at #18 :o Outrageous :o I'm most shocked at Invincible only getting to #8! It actually topped my chart as Evighet, which I really should state but built up good longevity as Invincible. I also thought you were a Helena fan so a #18 peak most surprises me!
July 23, 201113 yr I think we share five [bad Romance, Hold It Against Me, What's My Name?, Keep On Walking & Satellite]. But there are many others we'd have shared if my chart had started a few years earlier - Hero or Hold On Be Strong, It's My Time, Love Story, Song 4 Mutya, Release Me, Flying The Flag. I do love Flying The Flag & Teenage Life, but for them to each get more weeks at #1 than It's My Time, one of our only success during the decade, is a bit shameful :P 'Hang With Me' & 'Caesar' are two of only a few Robyn songs I like, so disappointed they didn't have as much success as some of her others. 15 straight weeks at #1 for Delta, with four different songs - crazy

Back then though, I did pay more attention to UK releases than Eurovision and MF, so whilst both contests sprung up some big hits on my chart, a lot of the entries were held back by current UK releases. My Number One was not a favourite of mine at all back then, I was put off by the "Your my lover, undercover" line  . Now though, I love it! :D

That said, I MASSIVELY regret not giving Malena Ernman's La Voix the week at #1 over The Highest Heights by Lovebugs, definitely my all time biggest chart regret! I would say that Rule The World stalling at #2 was a huge regret seeing as it's one of my top 15 songs ever, but it was beaten on every one of those weeks by Believe Again...too much good stuff around at once in late 2007 :drama: Yes I know, I was more of a loon for Delta between 2003-2005 than NickF1/Tyler are for Britney! Seriously anything from her first two albums I was going absolutely wild over! I still count most of them amongst my all time favourite songs though (well, not Almost Here ) so it wasn't just blind looning, they've stood the test of time for me!

Now though, I love it! :D Indeed, you definitely can't say that about your chart now - it's completely out of sync with the UK chart! I sort of recall Hero peaking at #3, wasn't Empty Room a #1 for you? I remember because Hero was a #1 and Empty Room a #3 for me, so the opposite  Really shocked still at that peak for Invincible though! Oh no! It's not quite my favourite of the 2005 contest - that would be Cool Vibes and its five weeks at #2  That was held off by Missy Higgins who I was absolutely obsessed with, even at the peak of ESC season! Plus 2005 wasn't the best year for the contest for me personally...

Ishtar held everyone off that year :heehee: Selma was the only Eurovision related #1 on my chart in 2005, and was definitely my favourite of that year
