Both this and Eric Amarillo have been excellent choices. 'All My Life' was definitely one of the highlights from BJSC XXXV and I said all along that there really wasn't much between Florrie and Chart Music collecting my 12 and 10 respectively. Both brilliant tracks. :wub:

I also adore this track as its summer vibe really does enhance the track. Very uplifting acoustic guitar driven pop music at its best. In fact, it's not too dissimilar to Frida Sundemo 'Towers' which has been by far one of my fave discoveries from Unknown Pleasures.

 

27 (21) The Wanted - Glad You Came (21-27) [2 wks] This and Louder are strange cases in that I've known and charted them for so long, yet they continue to climb up my chart AFTER they've hit #1 in the UK :o Now their first top 20 hit in my chart unexpectedly, I doubt it'll go much higher than #20 though...

 

That's what happens when the record company insist on holding backj release. I still reckon most UK based record companies are against the idea of OA/OS as they just want to debut at #1 with big first week sales - they couldn't less if it sold 0 copies in week 2 - which is unlikely to ever happen but still. :kink: However, in the case of 'Louder' I'm sort of glad it was handled this way otherwise I doubt it would've ever got to no. 1 with an OA/OS release - just been a big selling #5 or something like that.

What was the compilation called? :D When I first heard 'Danza Kuduro' upon its entry in the HIT30 I really didn't know what to think. I didn't like it but I didn't exactly hate it either - it reminds me of an uptempo 'Gasolina' by Daddy Yankee which was also a popular hit in a few European countries. If the song had Fatman Scoop featured, then I'm sure I hate it - never understood the appeal of Fatman Scoop at all. :lol: When it's done by the Europeans, there's a cheesey charm about it. :D

Hi Hits I hope you have been keeping well, I haven't posted in your chart for AGES so thought I'd make a few comments

 

I an indeed, good to see you still posting here. How's life treating you? I always hope that one day you will post your own chart - would be interesting to see just how similar they are. :D

 

01 (01) DJ Fresh feat. Sian Evans - Louder (01-01-01) [3 wks] - Really like this - good #1!

 

'Louder', as I've mentioned already, is just pure excellence. I really can't fault the track and it's definitely been my summer anthem. Can DJ Fresh get a fourth week at no. 1? :o I've not even thought about my new chart in great detail but there are a lot of other tracks I'm also loving and to be honest, ranking then in order can be a struggle. :lol:

 

02 (02) Ed Sheeran - The A Team (08-06-04-03-02-02) [6 wks] - This has grown on me so much, wonder if it could sneak a week for you? I personally love his newie more though

 

I'm exactly the same and the fact it's grown over a number of weeks is reflected in its chart run. It's rare that a song enters and continues climbing to its peak (rather than climb up for one week, then drop again). I've heard about Ed Sheeran's new single but not actually heard the song itself. Could Ed's new single prove to be a future #1 in my chart? :o If I think it's better than 'The A Team' then it would surely be good enough for such an accolade.

 

03 (03) Beyonce - Best Thing I Never Had (10-06-03-03) [4 wks] - Another song that's grown on me, Run the world was awful though.

 

Oh I agree that 'Run The World (Girls)' was absolutely terrible. I like songs that have a melody and a great chorus always helps. 'Run The World' was just noise for 4 minutes - not my idea of "music".

 

04 (06) Brooke Fraser - Something In The Water (07-06-04) [3 wks] - Nice track

 

I'd completely forgotton that this was no. 1 in New Zealand in September last year. :lol: The reason for its inclusion here is because I'm now taking part in BJSC - any tracks I discover via this, or Unknown Pleasures, qualify for my personal chart. I still like to keep some type of order though so this is now top 5 but the contest this track featured in was 4 weeks ago. :lol:

 

10 (05) Example - Changed The Way You Kiss Me (01-01-01-03-04-05-10) [7 wks] - Love this

 

This is imo Example's best single yet. I've heard his new single but to be honest I was actually quite disappointed when I heard it. It's nowhere near as good as 'CTWYKM' but I suspect it will be a UK #1 anyways.

Another track charting off the back on BJSC. I'm already well aware of this song and its chart success in Australia. I'm sure it will get a UK release at some point. With UK radio support (mainly Radio 1) I don't see why this couldn't be a big hit.

Actually so far both 'Arms' and 'Jars Of Hearts' have had the exact same chart run in its first two weeks. :lol: It's just a coincidence that when compiling the order of my chart, this is the position the track ended up in. If 'Arms' drops to no. 32 then out of the chart altogether then that's a bit more than just a coincidence. :o (I doubt it'll happen though)

'Mr. Saxobeat' is excellent but at the time of entering my chart, both tracks had been featured in - yep, you guessed it, BJSC. 'Riverside' was my own entry - a track I discovered in Denmark's singles chart. I absolutely love 'Riverside' though so even though 'Mr. Saxobeat' was the track I gave 12 points to (like Eurovision, that's the highest points you can give) it was never going to complete against the Obel in my chart. Shame you don't like it but each to their own. :P I'd guess that Alexandra Stan possibly does have the most successful #2 in my chsrt of 2011 but I don't like to data check my spreadsheet until the end of the year. I always do this so that when I post my top 40 of 2011 even I don't know what order the tracks will appear in. :D

 

35 (35) Jennifer Lopez feat. Pitbull - On The Floor (01-01-01-01-01-03-03-06-09-12-12-14-19-22-21-25-30-35-35) [19 wks] - By far my fav song of this year so far (with Adele just behind)

 

It's also worth noting that 'All Of The Lights' by Kanye West spent 3 weeks stalling at #2 behind 'On The Floor' and almost came close to denying Jennifer Lopez a fifth week at no. 1 but that weekend I'd decided to let 'On The Floor' hold at #1 instead. It's easily one of my fave songs of 2011 and I'm still not bored of listening to the track, unlike 'I'm Into You' which entered at #16 and dropped out of the top 40 three weeks later.

 

28 (--) Don Omar & Lucenzo - Danza Kuduro (28) [1 wk] - This is very catchy, i like it

 

Annoyingly catchy!!! :lol: As far as big European dance hits go, this hasn't really made the biggest of impacts on me. It may climb but it's not a song I like enough to put in my top 20. That may change but at the moment I can't see this peaking any higher than maybe #21.

This is another odd one. When I first heard 'Loca People' I was put off by the "what the f***" as it cheapens the song for me. A bit like 'Forget You!' by Cee Lo Green which is incredible but I just couldn't get into 'f*** You!' for the same reasons. However, one thing I really like about Sak Noel's track is the production on the backing track. In fact 'Loca People' would be a brilliant instrumental - or perhaps with just the "all day, all night" bit coming in every so often. Who knows how my chart will pan out. I predict that if this gets given a UK release in late August/early September this will definitely go to #1. :lol:

Well it's been slowly bubbling in my pre-release chart. It's got a good chance of entering high as I actually like 'I Wanna Go' a lot. It's been held back so that its peak in my chart is justifiable as far as I'm concerned. :D

Not quite yet. I still have to pass the 6-month mark, so I hope to be joining you lot next month.
