f***ING BRUNO MARS.

Top ten next week Britney! Stay strong!

Honestly shocked that Britney isn't top 10 yet.

** 47 Jay-Z & Kanye West Featuring Otis Redding - Otis (NEW) <-- How did it get that many downloads in 3 days??

71 60 AfroJack Featuring Eva Simons - Take Over Control <-- :o Never expected that...

** 68 Drake - Marvin's Room (NEW) <-- CLIMB.

97 85 Adele - Someone Like You <-- CLIMB.

** 88 Big Sean Featuring Kanye West & Roscoe Dash - Marvin & Chardonnay (NEW) <-- CLIMB. (My personal chart is invading the Hot 100  )

Otis has had a fair bit of airplay aswell apparently, which would've helped too.

Glad to see 50 Cent in the top 100, but I think this might be his peak. :( He even suggested he's not going to release an album anymore! :o Although knowing him he'll change his mind in a couple of weeks.

Is Mr Saxobeat getting MASSIVE airplay somewhere? It isn't even top 100 on the US iTunes....

Not as far as I can tell. This update is meant to be from yesterday

ALEXANDRA STAN -Mr. Saxobeat= 7.771 (+0.317)

iTunes

166. Mr. Saxobeat (Radio Edit) - Alexandra Stan

204. Mr. Saxobeat - Alexandra Stan

The same thing happened with Afrojack - appeared on the Hot 100 before cracking the iTunes Top 100.

The daily airplay updates we get are from Mediabase, but the Hot 100 uses BDS for its airplay component.

Mediabase doesn't track latin airplay, but there must also be a significant proportion of dance radio stations they aren't tracking that BDS is.

Why is it called 'Latin' radio when they play Spanish-language songs? Never understood that.

Don't Latin American countries speak Spanish though?

I'm so glad Super Bass is doing well in the US. It deserves Top 10 here, and will hopefully get that this weekend.

They do, but that just extends my question to 'why is Latin America called 'Latin' America if they speak Spanish?' :kink:

I thought of that pretty much as soon as I hit 'send'. :(

I'm sure there is a whole history, but to put it simply, Latin America is called 'Latin' because it's where people speak Spanish and Portuguese, which are romance languages derived from Latin. :)

Yeah, that involves much of history, what we learn from books. :o

It has significant airplay too. Might challenge top 20 next week.

Well look at that, completely forgot about airplay.

I'd say it's a shoo-in for top 20 next week given its top 10 placement on iTunes plus airplay.

To be fair though, English language has quite some phrases from Latin as well...

This will be the first time Britney has ever had 3 top ten hits off one album!

Annnnd 5 top ten hits consecutively. 3 being #1!

Spain = Castilian Spanish, Latin America = regional, bast*rdised spanish. If you want to simplify it's MORE gross than putting us, "Oz" and "the US" into some linguistic hodge-podge...
