Posted August 6, 201113 yr :yahoo: :yahoo: SHES BACK! And her new single sounds fantastic... I didn't realise she was so amazing live either. d0uxYpsnRkc She is best known for her song Release Me, which peaked at #3 in the UK, and was a world smash hit: 0G7eDpMGe1k Edited November 18, 201311 yr by LIАM
August 6, 201113 yr Neither did I...I'm not convinced that it's completely live, but if it is, fair play to her, she's got 10 times better.
August 6, 201113 yr Very pleased to see the return of Agnes, the lady behind the greatest Scandipop song of all time! This sounds incredibly promising, lively, disco, strings, great chorus and energy so I'm really looking forward to hearing the studio version!
August 6, 201113 yr I'm head over heels in love with this track. I need it in my life more than a meth addict needs their next fix.
August 6, 201113 yr I have to say, I'm glad that they've made the production significantly different from Release Me, because it could very easily have been made into another string-laiden epic. It's nice that they've limited the strings to the little outro that harks back to Release Me, but haven't let them take over the track.
August 6, 201113 yr It sounds 100% live to me, with backing vocals of course. If the backing vocals are HERSELF singing the MELODY (and quite loud in the mix at that) then it could hardly be considered "100%" live.

I agree, it's nice that it doesn't sound like a clone but at the same time a smile formed on my face as soon as they came in at the end :D I bet we have to wait months for a studio version now... If the backing vocals are HERSELF singing the MELODY (and quite loud in the mix at that) then it could hardly be considered "100%" live. I know what you mean, it does seem like she's singing along live with the studio version of the song - as indeed most happens with most club PA's.

Exactly, I'm not judging her for doing so, as I know she would usually sing completely live and loads of artists do the same thing...but still, some people are way to quick to accept something as live when it isn't :P
August 6, 201113 yr For the first performance of a new track I can't imagine her singing 100% live. Having a backing track layered with vocals gives her a crutch to fall back on if she was to forget the words.

August 6, 201113 yr  What? I've seen videos of the first performances of Sugababes tracks where they've been bricking it that they'll forget the words or fuck up as they've never performed the track live. Backing vocals gives them something to fall back on. I may not have explained it well, it's not as odd as it sounds.
August 6, 201113 yr Author RedOne production  Wow, if I'd heard Agnes was working with him I'd have went batshit crazy, but it's one of his best production ever. I'm glad it's not as generic as his others yet still being mainstream enough to smash the UK. In a non-loon, slighty insane way, I'm gonna say Agnes is as good as Leona in the vocals department. She just has a personality, makes good uptempo songs (and ballads) and knows how to work a crowd. I hope this does better than Collide! Edited August 6, 201113 yr by Γ Ι Λ ΛΛ
August 6, 201113 yr Author She has Max Martin and RedOne on it apparently. It could be something really amazing and her first huge international album or complete generic crap so I hope it's amazing!
August 6, 201113 yr Even if it is amazing it's pretty unlikely it'll cross over and become an international smash...
August 6, 201113 yr Author Even if it is amazing it's pretty unlikely it'll cross over and become an international smash... Of course, it is Agnes... But Release Me was a huge world hit.. even in Australia you still hear it often on the radios. If she gets it right this era she can be huge. Release Me was a step in the right direction, she just didn't have anything to follow it up. Providing she has learned from her mistakes and got some international songs on here, there is no reason why she can't be huge. Edited August 6, 201113 yr by Γ Ι Λ ΛΛ
