November 30, 201113 yr You do realise that shows like, and including, 8 out of 10 Cats are scripted? So the "disgusting" comment that Olly made was not written by him, and even just from looking at his face, you could tell that he was uncomfortable with saying it.... What did he actually say?
November 30, 201113 yr I listened to clips of classic on itunes. The album is very dull to be honest.
November 30, 201113 yr What did he actually say? Jimmy said "Rock 'n' Roll was born in 1955 with Bill Haley's 'Rock around the Clock' and was beaten to death in 2009 by Joe McElderry. Where is he now, hey?" Then Olly said "I don't know, he's probably at home watching this." Jimmy then said "Hi Joe McElderry. He's joking of course, he's driving the mini cab." I mean, god forbid they have jokes on a comedy panel show!
November 30, 201113 yr Agreed Theo, blown out of proportion or what! jonmove and torresgirl (at least one of whom never even saw the show) really make me laugh the way they only see what they want to see. Olly is nice to everyone, as is Joe, there's no friction between them and no malice form either side, end of story. So let's draw a line under that and get back to discussing Joe... Yes, Joe decided on his direction, when he SAID himself that he would like to do pop-rock. I read numerous interviews where he said he was excited about his new stuff and he had alot of say in the direction of the record. And if Syco horrible history with artists can't get through to you.....Never said Syco had a great track record and they didn't help, but Joe didn't know who he was as an artist and he still doesn't. He made a record that he liked and the public didn't agree with him. He didn't even cowrite ONE song! And it's up to the artist to put their foot down and tell the record company they don't want to start off with a cover. You talk like Joe is a puppet with no say. LOL! Come on. Olly has no talent. And I am not saying that to be mean. It's the truth. He has an average voice, and nothing to him. It is all about marketing. I can find millions of these types of people. Katie Price makes more money than Colin Firth. Jersey Shore is more successful than Mad Men, and Modern Family. Doesn't mean they are respected in the industry. They are laughed at. Olly can make all the money he wants and Syco can be crap to Joe, but they can never take away his genuine real talent. Joe proved he is a major talent, while Olly showed that if you throw a lot of money at anyone, you can easily fool people. When Simon says bark, Olly asks how loud. By the way, I actually never have anything against Olly in the beginning, but when he pulls shit like this (and this is not the first time), he really shows his true color of how fame hungry he is, and disgusting of a person he really is. Oly is respected in the pop industry... He works with top songwriters, he's mates with some of the 'cooler' pop stars like Professor Green and Eliza Doolittle. And it makes me laugh how you imply that Olly is a puppet, when he has more say in his output than Joe has ever had or will ever have. Why is that not an issue for you with Joe? You clearly look for excuses to dislike Olly, I'm glad I don't do that with Joe, I maintain that McElderry is a nice lad. Anyway, I'm gonna listen to Joe's Classic Christmas and Classic records and see what I think! Might make a good present for my grandma. Edited November 30, 201113 yr by BuzzLightyear
November 30, 201113 yr Anyway, I'm gonna listen to Joe's Classic Christmas and Classic records and see what I think! Might make a good present for my grandma. His Christmas album is awful :puke2: Terribly awful. I don't know what I was thinking giving it a listen. As for Olly Murs how can anyone say he has no talent  He's a fantastic performer and singer! He always owns the stage too!
November 30, 201113 yr His Christmas album is awful :puke2: Terribly awful. I don't know what I was thinking giving it a listen. As for Olly Murs how can anyone say he has no talent  He's a fantastic performer and singer! He always owns the stage too! I agree, I gave it a listen and its dire :( He totally ruined O Holy Night.
November 30, 201113 yr I agree, I gave it a listen and its dire :( He totally ruined O Holy Night. I don't think there is a song on there he hasn't ruined tbh
November 30, 201113 yr I don't think there is a song on there he hasn't ruined tbh  White Christmas? That song was murdered many years ago, so he was just another shot in the heart to it :P
November 30, 201113 yr Last page did someone call Olly talentless? Oh dear.. I'll stop at that. Just listened to clips of Joe's new album, it's boring <_< Shame because I actually voted for him in the X Factor only for him to produce this kind of songs :(
November 30, 201113 yr Just listened to previews of it on Itunes, ghastly sacharine stuff, my grandma will be delighted with it!
November 30, 201113 yr Jimmy said "Rock 'n' Roll was born in 1955 with Bill Haley's 'Rock around the Clock' and was beaten to death in 2009 by Joe McElderry. Where is he now, hey?" I mean, god forbid they have jokes on a comedy panel show! Are you serious? How old is Olly 28 or something? Good job on being mature and picking on your "friend" that is 20 years old. He is an adult, and he chose to make fun of Joe and laugh. He didn't even look awkward saying it. He looked pretty comfortable making fun of Joe and then laughing about it. :o This is an example of a "friend" stabbing you in the back. Even Olly fans went and attack Joe. So who is blowing it out of proportion. Again, Joe never said anything about him, used him, or make fun of him. That is what a friend does, not this disgusting behavior of Olly, a "friend". Agreed Theo, blown out of proportion or what! jonmove and torresgirl (at least one of whom never even saw the show) really make me laugh the way they only see what they want to see. Olly is nice to everyone, as is Joe, there's no friction between them and no malice form either side, end of story. So let's draw a line under that and get back to discussing Joe... Anyway, I'm gonna listen to Joe's Classic Christmas and Classic records and see what I think! Might make a good present for my grandma. You really want to continue this. Olly wasn't nice to Lloyd when he laughed at him. Olly wasn't nice to girls when he called them "dogs". Or cancelled a gig to be on TV. Again, Joe SAID he wanted to go towards the pop-rock direction that he did on X Factor. How many examples do you want that SYCO decides everything no matter what? Shayne? Leona? Leon? Joe is not going to hate his 1st album. What artist would say that?! Are you serious about this? You really don't know how record label works. They are the ones in control, especially with Sony's labels and 100% with Simon/Syco as he is a control freak. Get your facts right. And are you serious about co-writing?! We all know it is bullshit. Don't make it out to what it is. There are rules in contracts if you don't known. And Joe was happy to get out of Syco contract. And good for him because as we have seen with their history, they are a horrible label. And Universal wasn't the only ones interested. ;) Oly is respected in the pop industry... He works with top songwriters, he's mates with some of the 'cooler' pop stars like Professor Green and Eliza Doolittle. You clearly look for excuses to dislike Olly, I'm glad I don't do that with Joe, I maintain that McElderry is a nice lad. No he is not. It's the truth. People know he is Simon's dog, and if it wasn't obvious of him getting the Xtra Factor host. Think about it, when he there are millions of other host. As for songwriters, Joe had some as well, but Syco decided not to use it. Again, the label's decision. Again, you don't know how record label works. He isn't with Syco. Please explain: Leona or Shayne, to name a few. They have no say at all and released what Simon wants, even thought he dropped Shayne in particular and he didn't even pick that cover release. I am not looking for excuse. It is what it is. Go do some research. He said those things; he did those things; and there is a reason why Syco has the worst track record of artists. November 30, 201113 yr Olly wasn't picking on him, he was having a joke and making some banter. We don't know what happens when the cameras are off. Joe is an adult too, I am sure he knew it was a joke and laughed it off. Its what friends do, I make fun of my friends and they do the same. And of course Olly will get paid for the X-tra Factor thing, its a job  Now, both mods have said for this to stop, so shall we try and calm down and talk about Joe and his albums?

You really have nothing better to do. LOL! You understand that his versions are well received that don't even know Joe. No even a good effort. :D
November 30, 201113 yr Oricon isn't even a fna of Olly  Well recieved by some, but not all. I have heard loads of versions of O Holy Night and Joe's does not even compare to them. I say that as a fan of the song, not an Olly loon. Edited November 30, 201113 yr by Regina

Come on. You don't do that to a friend? Why would you be disgusting and laugh at your friend and make fun of him to everyone. Really mature of him right. He was not paid on Xtra Factor actually. They just added him. They are paying Caroline your right since she does hosting. It is part of the marketing. And that is not what I mean. I have moved on, Please talk to the Olly loons like Buzz, who seems to want to continue this. Edited November 30, 201113 yr by jonmove

I say that as a fan of the song, not an Olly loon. Umm... Have you seen Oricon previous comment before: Joe McElderry is boring, so what if he can sings he's just... boring. Nice try Regina. I am a fan of the song as well, and it is one of the best version, especially with the duet with Rolando.
November 30, 201113 yr Jonmove, did you not get a PM from a mod? I stopped after that but you didn't so you have a funny way of 'moving on'. I don't want a warning as I've only been here 5 minutes. PM me if you want, I''m happy to indulge you but stop derailing threads. I won't be making any more comparisons between Olly and Joe as the mods don't like it, I suggest you do the same as for some reason you're the worst offender! Let's take Joe out from under Olly's shadow and just talk about him in this thread. Agreed? Edited November 30, 201113 yr by BuzzLightyear
November 30, 201113 yr Can Joe McElderry loons not read? The mods have asked countless times for the incessant circle arguments to stop and you still carry on...

He called Joe boring, so that makes him an Olly loon? Well I think its dreadful, IMO Faith Hill sings it the best.
