August 15, 201113 yr I actually adore 'Forever And A Day', it's so criminally underrated. :( It really is, I love it when she does music like that. I hope the EU version of Here I Am is chock full of that style of stuff. Also I thought I gave Daylight a 10, must have been a 9 then. It's bloomin' marvellous, easy to see why it wasn't a massive hit but that chorus is amazing.
August 15, 201113 yr I don't like 'Like This' either, she has released some crock of shit in her time (although none as bad as some of Beyonce's REALLY bad songs).
August 16, 201113 yr Author #07 - 'CAN'T NOBODY' - 7.659 UK: #5 TdR0vD01B3Y I'm so real, so soft to touch, my love, my kiss, so sweet, glorious And now time for yet another mid-tempo, this one coming from Simply Deep. With the amount of mid-tempo singles she's released, I'm surprised she's not a MOR artist by now! Anyway, 'Can't Nobody' was released after the classic 'Stole', and reached the top ten similarily. It's actually a quite nice, pleasant song, but it's not something that I would have expected to be so well-liked so far into the future, I'd have written this off almost immediately, so it's nice that it achieved a fair few high scores here. August 16, 201113 yr I always really liked 'Can't Nobody', I prefered it to 'Stole' by a long distance and still listen to it. It's funky and laden with catchy hooks throughout.
August 16, 201113 yr Author #06 - 'MOTIVATION' (feat. Lil Wayne) - 7.773 UK: #166 s1XozsBN5Z4 but hold up, wait; new position, I put her on my plate, then I do the dishes Just missing a spot in the top five is Kelly's most recent solo effort, and (unfortunately) her biggest UK flop to-date, making a measly #166 two weeks ago. The song is Kelly's sexiest yet, full of innuendo, and a video that's smoking hot, but a low-key UK release meant no promotion and no hit here. It's evidently popular on Buzzjack though, achieving joint-third most 11's out of all of Kelly's singles, but its parent album Here I Am doesn't seem to be as popular - I for one love it though, but most anticipate the UK release with more dance fodder than R&B tunes. August 16, 201113 yr Motivation! It's probably 3rd behind Stole and When Takes Over for me, I really am disappointed with Here I Am though :( Hopefully the European version set for release is better!
August 16, 201113 yr Noooo, #6?! :( By far her best song ever, really can't see her topping it any time soon.
August 16, 201113 yr Motivation was not sent to radio and although was added to itunes etc was hardly a single release for the UK! Here I Am has also grown on me alot i actually now really like it!!
August 16, 201113 yr "Motivation" has grown on me massively, in the past few days. I love it now.
August 16, 201113 yr Author #05 - 'WHEN LOVE TAKES OVER' (with David Guetta) - 8.043 UK: #1 zudbz4hOcbc oh, looking out for you to hold my hand, it feels like I could fall, now love me right, like I know you can, we could lose it all Kicking off the top five is the beautiful 'When Love Takes Over', Kelly's second UK #1 away from Destiny's Child. The song is my far my favourite thing that either artist has done, and it was one of my highlights of summer 2009. The song is (ludicrously) hated by a fair few people, but loved by lots as well, achieving the most tens in this rate (8)! I hope for more tunes of this calibre on Kelly's European edition of the Here I Am album, because she (most of the time) does dance music a lot better than R&B. Anyway, there's still one more Kelly/Guetta collaboration in the top five, but where will it place? I'll post #4 later tonight, and begin the top three countdown sometime tomorrow! August 16, 201113 yr I honestly fail to understand how anybody could consider Forever And A Day a 10/10 song. There's absolutely sod all to it. So boring. Love Daylight. Like This is the TITS and anybody who can't see that needs their face shoving in Kelly's expensive B-cup breasts. Also (no offence Theo but) in WHAT way could Can't Nobody possibly be considered 'pleasant' or 'midtempo'? It's a total banger!
August 16, 201113 yr I honestly fail to understand how anybody could consider Forever And A Day a 10/10 song. There's absolutely sod all to it. So boring. Perhaps 10/10 is a little generous, but it has a great chorus and generic-but-still-great production. Maybe it's because it's too generic European sounding for you, but as you well know that WORKS for me.
August 17, 201113 yr Author #04 - 'DILEMMA' (with Nelly) - 8.196 UK: #1 8WYHDfJDPDc now that's gangsta-ah-ah, and I got special ways to thank ya-ah-ah Just missing out on the top three is Kelly's first venture into a solo career in the UK, and the start of a huge album campaign with her Simply Deep set. Kelly teamed up with rapper Nelly for THE duet of the decade, 'Dilemma', which became a huge #1 for the duo, selling close to 800,000 copies in the UK alone. It's a beautiful mid-tempo pop/R&B song, with great vox from Kelly, and a great video to match. Surprisingly loved by Buzzjack (who I would assume would write it off due to Nelly+rap), it achieved only one score below 5, a record on this rate!
