Posted August 16, 201113 yr Arsenal vs Udinese tonight. Also this season Europe shall be introduced to the horror that is the Britannia Stadium. Chris Hughton will take on European football, and Man City will attempt to win the Champions League. Sure to be another interesting season of European football. I will say here now that Barcelona will win the ECL again.
August 16, 201113 yr I'm actually looking forward to the Europa League for a change with Stoke being in it, I just want to see exactly how Europe react and cope with them.
August 26, 201113 yr Seeing Scottish fans moaning is rather amusing! Premier League blah blah unfair blah blah no money blah blah
August 26, 201113 yr Author Scottish football is seriously w***. They should look at their league first instead of complaining. Rangers and Celtic could barely compete in the Championship these days, and the rest of the leagues teams are no better than Conference teams!
September 27, 201113 yr Alan Parry has shown tonight why I think he's such an awful commentator. He has described a shot heading for the middle of the goal as "off target". At the start of the second half he said that, before tonight, Danny Wellbeck has never scored a hat trick at senior level and never scored a goal in the Champions League. He then said he was in sight of both milestones. Wellbeck scored twice in the first half so had gone beyond being in sight of the second milestone. He also asked Gary Neville whether Ferguson did any research into the opposition before a game. If only Neville had replied with something along the lines of "No. In fact he never bothers finding out who the opposition are until the morning of the game. Even if we travelled to an away game the day before, he made sure he was blindfolded from the moment we left Old Trafford until he was in his hotel room. Anything in the hotel room which gave away the location would be removed."
September 27, 201113 yr I feel like I've stepped into an alternate reality  There were three bad things about that game. As mentioned above, Parry's commentary was awful even by his low standards. Man U's defending was terrible and the referee's positioning was shocking. Three times in the last ten minutes or so, he got in the way. At CL level, once in a match is bad but three times in ten minutes is unacceptable.
September 27, 201113 yr Well, our defending was horrendous. But we've known that all season. Chelsea exploited it ridiculously but couldn't convert, Basel could. But the ref didn't help, MY GOD. I'm not happy with a point but I'll take it considering how much worse it could have been. Plus there was Munich beating City 2-0 and Tevez storming off over which Mancini has just said he will never play for City again
September 27, 201113 yr It was really strange because in the first half I agree we were TERRIBLE at defending so of course I expected Fergie to address that at half time but of course we didn't and it bit us on the arse in the end, felt sorry for De Gea as once again he had a great game. Despite that I really enjoyed the game and as much as it pains me to say it in the end I'm happy with a point :| Just have to look at City for comfort  and loads of City fans moaning that despite the fact they were playing Bayern Munich there was STILL nowhere in the City centre showing City over United. #manchesterisred
September 27, 201113 yr And Tevez apparently refused to come on as a sub and Mancini now says he's 'finished' at City. Great day for them eh?
September 27, 201113 yr Author Tevez is a disgrace. Big baby. You play because you're a professional, awful awful attitude. Man Utd look like they miss Rooney so much.
September 28, 201113 yr It makes me happy when I get proved right. Since he left United I have had countless arguments with City fans that Tevez is a stuck up baby with no morals, no proffesionalism and no sense of loyalty whatsoever. He really is a dick. Honestly, behaving like that is not going to make any club want you.
September 28, 201113 yr Souness was spot on last night. Hughes on the other hand... No surprise that they both have the same agent LOL at a Man City fan trying to tell me that Suarez is just as bad as Tevez with his tantrums.. Erm big difference. One never wants to leave the pitch and the other refuses to go on. I know who I'd rather have
November 1, 201113 yr I expect Arsenal, Chelsea, Milan and Barca to book their place in the second round. I can actually see Barca finishing second in their group and getting one of the English teams (probably us) in the next round. :o
December 8, 201113 yr Author I know I laugh and I am bitter, but Man Utd's Champions League exit is a disaster for them (whilst being highly amusing). The irony is there is a likelihood Man Utd will be facing tougher teams on paper in the Europa League! It's financially a disaster aswell. I think it really showed up the weaknesses in the Man Utd squad though. The 'young players' haven't come on as much as Fergie and the media would have you believe. Man City already knew they were out, but they had an exceptionally hard group.
December 8, 201113 yr Man City definitely had the hardest group, a team from each of the top 4 leagues in Europe, although Villereal have been awful and are 15th in the league too, have they had to sell in the summer? They were also the first team to exit the Champions League with as many as 10 points since Werder Bremen in 2006, so they were unlucky. I think Cleverly was possibly the best of Man Utd's young players and he's been injured for a while now, but they're definitely not as good as the hype suggests. De Gea will come good, who knows what Smalling was doing for the second goal last night, Jones is good but very erratic and it's interesting that both Fergie and Capello have been starting him in central midfield, although in United's case it's possibly just because they've no depth there, especially with Anderson and Cleverly injured. I don't even dislike them that much but I think it's fantastic they're out, thoroughly deserved and they saw that group as a walkover, also they were bound to get Nicosia in the next round! ITV must be GUTTED! :D

ITV must be GUTTED! :D De Gea will come good, but right now he's a liability. He can go from being sublime, to looking like a nervous wreck. But you have just got to look at what their youth team had produced lately - ok Welbeck and Cleverly, but in the past Man Utd have primed themselves on youth team players coming through. I can't see Macheda making it. Man Utd's best youth team player is Morrison, but he'll probably end up in jail. And Jonny Evans must be one of the worst CBs around. It is just hilarious they are out though. On paper it was such an easy group. There's going to be a lot of pressure for a midfield signing now. I was hoping Man Utd would draw Real Madrid in the last 16 and get spanked by them, but ending up in the Europa League is so much funnier! I was gutted when Liverpool went out in 2009. Thursday nights on Channel 5 for Man Utd though ... hilarious! Five must be absolutely extatic.
December 8, 201113 yr LOL wasn't it just a few days ago that SAF walked out of a press conference when asked why the top clubs were struggling in the CL ? Hahahaha I have no sympathy for United. One of the easiest groups on paper and yet they still struggle. Quite hilarious to see Gary Neville afterwards.. He looked like he wanted to punch Graeme Souness for suggesting they'd been a mess ever since the 6-1 defeat vs. City
December 8, 201113 yr Oh they are, Collymore was loving it on Twitter last night, although he's deleted it all now as it just provoked loads of Utd fans into abusing him, a lot of it pretty offensive. It's going to make the league interesting though, the current top 3 all in the Europa League (or maybe not in Spurs case) and 4th and 5th in the CL. The Rooney stat is 1 goal in open play (which was deflected) in 1,039 minutes.
