Purple - you're probably watching the footie now - but has your HMV deluxe got the acoustic tracks with it? Just that mine came with the wrong 2nd CD, the 5 xtra XF tracks. It's ok because I wanted HMBOT and YBR anyway, but it seems to have happened to a lot of people this morning and I'm praying to god that this is just HMV's error and doesn't get replicated by play.com etc otherwise my deliberate-sabotage-by-Syco paranoia'll rear it's ugly head again.

 

Anyways - the album is just - STUNNING :w00t: :yahoo: :cheer: It's quite a while since I've loved a whole album this much. RFYL sits in there quite harmlessly, but like others have said I'd have been more than happy to see it dropped in favour of Chemical. And Sparks instead of WWC. Not a single other track I would have wanted to lose.

 

I'm quite overwhelmed by it atm. What an incredible debut album.

Why is the an 80k figure kicking around this thread. I'm sure it says somewhere, is this just a hope, or a prediction based on pre-sales. If the latter, then that's pretty good, if not exactly jaw dropping, for Matt.

 

I need to hear some tracks before committing. Is it going on Amazon download for £3.99 like most of their top new releases do?

Just seen your post and put it on to check...although Itunes refuses to recognise the CD, it is the acoustic tracks I have, and they are absolutely bloody STUNNING.

It's just something a hater made up on one of the DS 'let's bash Matt' threads - they either don't know what they're talking about and think it's a bad number, or they do and they're deliberately setting a high bar in public so's they can come back later to laugh at it not reaching it (hope that makes sense??)

I agree JaMak. 80,000 in todays current climate for the first week is quite high. The hatred on that site is so bad. You can just go round in circles trying to defend Matt. People just aren't willing to see the other side. To be honest if it sold 200,00 in total I would be very happy indeed.

The 80k figure is just something someone who claimed to be 'in the know' over on Digital Spy posted he was 'predicted' to sell (and chart at 3 for some reason, not sure what could chart between Matt and Noel with sales of 80K?) I just commented on it because people there were commenting what a flop figure it was which surprised me. For an X Factor winner, it's nowhere near stellar but I'm not sure how it can be a 'flop' either. The poster never came back so have no idea whether that was based on some solid info, which it may have been or he was just guessing and plucked a figure out of thin air. In all honesty I have no idea how it's going to sell, just that pre orders have been good but I'm not taking that for granted because I'm sure we remember those 'Joe has the most pre sales of any male winner' last year comments from Amazon and that didn't exactly lead to stellar signs so I'm keeping an open mind.

 

Amazon have gone for Noel Gallagher as the £3.99 mp3 of the week so he won't get a boost there, perhaps in the supermarkets if they all have cheaper prices.

There are 90 second samples on itunes that give a decent indication of the album, there's some live tracks on Youtube or alternatively I'm sure Spotify will have it up on Monday.

 

Oh my giddy aunt at the acoustics :wub: :wub: As lovely as his XF performances were they surely can't compare to this, so how annoying for those of you with the wrong CD!! What a pain!

Thanks for the responses. Some people have nothing better to do with their time other than gloat over the demise (or predicted demise) of others. Very sad!

RFYL probably like 8th or something if I ordered the tracks, I was skeptical as well based on RYFL. OK, it isn't QUITE as mindblowing as stated by some but it's pretty good.
