That said, I only gave it opening odds of about 8/1 I think and wasn't allowed to offer anything further as the host. Winners do begin to become more clear as the weeks progress and you notice everyone raving over the same 4 or 5 songs.

 

The first time I listened to 'Video Games' I got actual goosebumps and it just stood out so incredibly well - even though the mp3 I had was the "video rip" with the talking, it didn't make any difference. I think I gave 'Video Games' openings odds of 3/1 and they were shortered to 2/1 in my final update.

 

Actually, my predictions weren't that far off last month. This month could be far more interesting when it comes to the finals. Me hosting them will be interesting to see if we have a runaway winner or a literal down to the wire final 2.

I think the original version might have done better, the radio edit lacks as much of a punch for me. Might be different for everyone else though, still a really good, catchy song regardless!

I prefer the original or Soundfactory mixes too, but this version fits better with the current dance slant that BJSC has taken on.

Maybe, dance seems very thin on the ground this month after about 15 dance songs last month :lol: It buries the melody underneath the production a little bit though, the original is more distinctive.

 

Yeah perhaps, I must admit that I'm not at all sure how it will do. I don't know if people even really like this genre? I've always loved summery guitar pop and I do think that it's catchy but I can see why people wouldn't be into it, although it was either this or a slightly generic electro-pop song which looking at the semis would have got completely lost in amongst all of the others. I suppose at least Sunrise isn't competing for votes from other songs from the same genre, it stands alone :lol: However, perhaps there's a reason for that...

 

But I'll be pleased just to qualify. I must admit that I'll be disappointed if I don't because there are really only 4 songs that I particularly like (enough to chart at least) from Semi 1 this month...likewise Semi 2 though, if these 8 songs don't all go through to the final then I'll have a lot of fillers at the bottom of my final votes...
