The only songs off ceremonials I genuinely cannot listen to are 'leave my body' and 'remain nameless'. The rest is pure amazingness.

This has grown on me even more - I don't think I've heard such a beautifully haunting song before. It by far is my favourite single by far from her. Well this song is FLOPPING hard :( But the good news is it looks like it will go top 20 in Australia. Ironically, its being used for a titanic trailer.

Never Let me go raises 135-82. Yeah, it flopped dramatically but I didn't event think it would make the top 100 so sort of happy... I guess.

Had 'Heartlines' on repeat the last couple of days - love it.

I listened to the samples but wasn't totally convinced as it just sounded odd without the usual intense backing, is it really worth getting then?

I am completely and utterly in love with Ceremonials, it is my 3rd favourite album of all time (behind The Fame Monster and 21). Shake It Out, Only If For A Night and Breaking Down are all time favourites, I can't even begin to comprehend why she isn't one of the biggest singers today. I know her music isn't exactly commercial but some of the songs, especially from Lungs, were fantastic and could have quite easily been played on the TV and radio (Rabbitheart, Dog Days Are Over). This album really makes me wish I could sing so, a) I could do the songs justice when I sing them, and b) I could potentially create something this good in the future.

Absolutely, Florence sounds magnificent, and it's very refreshing to hear the songs acoustic

The rumour that "Never Let Me Go" would be the theme to Titanic was complete balls then...

 

I'm still in love with the song though, and it's still continuing to grow! :wub:

It took its time but 'Never Let Me Go' has properly clicked with me now - second best single of the era after 'Shake It Out' for me now :wub:

About time! Its the best song on the whole album for me, followed by Only if for a night and Shake it out.

She's hardly some Joanna Newsom type figure living on the fringes. She's been massive across the world, with her songs featured absolutely everywhere to the point where she's become inescapable. Performing on X-Factor, at the VMAs etc? :blink:

If that's true it's a brilliant choice, probably been overtaken in my affections by "Only If For A Night" now but will make a far better single.

I'm also so excited for it! I can't wait. The music video is sure to be a spectacle...

They're actually picking decent singles this era. Although at times I feel Spectrum is a little bit cheesy and OTT, it is the best single choice. She could actually have another top 40...
