Interesting.

 

But using this and the All Time 100 we should be able to produce a list of sales when these singles were not number 1. The big selling 1-weekers like Never Ever or Heartbeat/Tragedy would do well.

If memory serves the Candle In The Wind single was released on a Friday (?) due to production only being able to start following the funeral on the Sunday. Therefore the weekly sale above is, I believe, actually for two chart weeks (Fri/Sat plus a week). It would still be in the list on it's two day sale as well I think though.
Oh and Killing In The name should be within the last few entries too, think it was abt 550k.

It was around 500k with Joe on 450k.

what about songs that sold well in the 80's like the original band aid and 70's like the boney m singles?

I presume it must be quite hard to find weekly sales for them though
