I know she came 4th, she didn't win it though as stated which was my point!

I saw a (very long) video months ago of her transformation from 2004-2011, mostly Idol clips iirc. Her voice is a lot more mysterious and breathy now than it was on Idol, but I guess that WAS eight years ago

Oh, I thought you were saying you didn't know she'd been on Swedish Idol! I was quite surprised for a second...
I think I found that out the minute I Googled her after her participation in last year's Melodifestivalen was announced! Everybody worth their salt in Swedish pop aside from Robyn and September has come from Swedish Idol haven't they?

Loreen is one of the best participants ever in Swedish Idol (first year). She was just 20 and it is rather painful to look at these clips because she was:

1) The wrong gender.

2) The wrong colour.

3) Didn't have the right looks.

They were mean to her, tricked and pushed her to a point where the press started to talk about scandal. It took 8 years but it gives her comeback another dimension.

The UK has a great entry this year! I really like that song. Reminds me of Roger Whittaker (don't ask me why, maybe it's just his age).

UK are performing 1st in the final, France 9th, Italy 10th, Azerbaijan 13th, Spain 19th and Germany 20th.

1st :(

Also, Engelbert will be on the One Show in 15 minutes.

Engelbert on The One Show on BBC One right now with a feature about Azerbaijan, La La Love was being used as a soundbed! :D

I heard La La Love!!! I was so excited!! :w00t:
I want to hear clips of Euphoria! Push it up iTunes a bit, that instrumental is amazing, even if only about three of us seem to think so

Hopefully they'll play clips of some of the entries before the end of the show!
Engleberts song in my opinion will be more powerful live as it has a bit of an epic sound to it which will come alive when performed live. I believe a top 5 or top 10 finish is very possible, the fact he is known aswell gives him a chance of getting some extra votes.

Based on studio versions:

01. Blue - I Can

02. Daz Sampson - Teenage Life

03. Scooch - Flying The Flag

---

04. Jade Ewen - It's My Time

---

05. Jessica Garlick - Come Back

06. Javine - Touch My Fire

---

07. Nicki French - Don't Play That Song Again

08. Engelbert Humperdinck - Love Will Set You Free

---

09. James Fox - Hold Onto Your Love

10. Lindsay Dracass - No Dream Impossible

---

11. Josh Dubovie - That Sounds Good To Me

12. Gemini - Cry Baby

13. Andy Abraham - Even If

Engelbert's song is just "nice". Nothing more and nothing less. Now I've heard it, I'm even more confident we'll come top 10 now though. Hope it grows on me. The top 3 for me though are amongst my favourite Eurovision songs/pop songs. (That I've heard from the contests anyway!)

Uk are usually one of my fave countries at eurovision but that does not include andy abraham entry as i hated it, although i think overall sweden does have the best entries, engleberts song i like but dont love, its a solid ballad and it should return the uk to the top 10 this year.
You might have seen already but The Hump is #41 in radio airplay and according to CompareMyRadio it's mostly from an independent station in Manchester :o BBC don't appear to have played it once :(
