Dale's death

(do we need to spoiler that anymore?) was brilliantly done. Excellent episode all round.

If the spoiler Roo posted above is true, then JESUS WEPT.

I don't want to sound like a comic fanboy, but Carl killing Shane is fucking important to his character.

I hate spoiling myself but from the bits and pieces that I've read

although Rick murders Shane, Shane is going to reanimate as a walker. They've hinted at it over the past few episodes, but it's clear that everybody has the walker disease, and if you're not shot in the brain you'll reanimate. Carl allegedly kills the Walker version of Shane. Presumeably saving Rick from being bitten.

OH! Ok, seems a bit better. I really don't want to spoil anymore though so NO MORE SPOILERS. Maybe. How would you say the walker disease thing has been hinted at? #slow

The episode where Rick and Shane went to kill Randall at the school. They found those two bodies that looked like dead walkers, but had no signs of being bitten. Rick and Shane spent a while looking at them, then Rick again looked at them as he was leaving with Randall.

What a pay-off. I'm sure every man and his dog knew that was coming, but still - jaw-dropping. Was so well shot.

There are a few little bits and pieces that made no sense, but I'm willing to let those lie as it is TV afterall. And that final overhead shot - wow. The finale is going to be excellent.

^agree with EVERYTHING you just said Rooney!

The finale should be AMAZING! :D

Amazing stuff. So tense and gripping! Loved the whole idea behind them not realising they were infected with whatever the disease thing is and that it wouldn't show/become obvious until you actually died in some way. (Unless you were hit in the head). The final moments, I agree with Rooney. Perfectly and beautifully done and portrayed!
Excellent episode last night really loved it, and the ending looked pretty spectacular. Can't wait for the final episode.

Who do you guy's thinks a goner tonight ?

My bets are on;

Patricia

Herschel

Beth

T-Dog

Jimmy ? (the white boy from Herschel's farm)

I do hope Carol survives and the storyline between her and Daryl builds up more. ^_^

Well - don't read if you really don't want to know!

I'm afraid there's no happy ending for Jimmy and Patricia. In the chaos at the farm - the group gets separated and Daryl comes to Carol's rescue on his hog! A much anticipated character makes an appearance - although you don't get a good look to see who it is - but whoever they are - they help Andrea out of a sticky situation. Apparently in the closing shot - the prison looms in the distance.

Kath

^ I quoted you Kath and nearly spoilt it for myself

I shall stay away from that spoiler for as long as I can :kink:

Ok, now I can read what you wrote Kath

Poor Patricia, i've had a soft spot for her. Not too fussed about Jimmy. It'll be interesting to see the character development in Beth seeing as she survived. Glad Andrea survived, even though it was inevitable  left me shaky for a moment till Michonne showed up :D

Now the long wait for season 3 :( I guess i'll have to get a life for the time being.

Really good finale. Very tense throughout, although I was more tense when Rick went a bit totaliterian on everyone! Some brilliant camera work in the episode. T-Dog finally got some lines. All in all a good finale. Didn't leave a big cliffhanger which is nice, just two very interesting plot developments. Lori is so frustrating, she implies Rick shoud kill Shane and when he does it she goes all funny.

The finale got absolutely huge ratings. 4.7 in 18-49. Scripted television wise, I think only The Big Bang Theory has got better numbers this season. Anyway if AMC slash the budget then they are absolutely mental. They should do a multi-season order straight away.

I was wondering that too  but couldn't she be going all wierd on Rick over the whole 'Carl shot Shane'. Either way, I still think she's a crazy bitch

I've only seen bits and read spoilers (I'm not watching streamed shows - the quality is crap) so I'll have to wait until Friday to watch the episode fully intact. However!!!! From what I've read:

I'm getting really pee'd off with Carol! Apparently there's one bit where it appears she's trying to do to Daryl & Rick what Lori had been doing to Shane & Rick. I really can't stand her to be honest. I'm hoping that Daryl is the Tyreese of the show (without his awful ending) and that Michone splits them up. Carol is sucking the life out of one of the best characters in the show.

Pretty much. I dunno, I guess some characters actions can be explained because Rick dropped two big bombshells on them. Then when Rick does his speech - oh my, that is Emmy worthy. Hoping both Andrew Lincoln and Jon Berthanal will get Emmy nominations this year.

As much as I love the show - I'm not sure that any of the actors are worthy of Emmy nominations. In fact - especially not Jon Bernthal - I find him too shouty and his movements - plus never making eye contact throw me off him a bit. I love the character and his over-the-top reactions but I don't think the actor is great - certainly no better than any of the other major players in the show. For me it is an ensemble piece and they all do their job adequately - no more no less.

I disagree. It is an ensemble piece, but Rick and Shane have had the most focus on them this year and both actors have really shown their skills. When you see Andrew Lincoln's speech at the end of the episode you will know what I mean - it is very powerful. LOST was an ensemble piece too, but both Michael Emerson and Terry O'Quinn won Best Supporting Actor awards for their work.

I can't comment on Lincoln's performance in the final episode until Friday - but I do know that in the episodes I've seen so far - I've found the acting adequate and no more. I think if push came to shove I'd say that Lincoln's performance is better than Bernthal's but I don't think the acting has been great. Even Scott Wilson - an actor whom I've long admired - seems to be sleepwalking through the show. I still love it but think the whole show is far, far greater than the sum of its parts.

I'm really looking forward to Friday though!

One of the best shows on TV, I did find at the start of the series a bit slow to begin with, it definitely picked up from the mid point and the last few episodes was just compelling TV, the finale was the cream of the crop, it was so good, damn commercials got in the way. The production of the show is excellent, I love to be a zombie extra :D
