September 27, 201113 yr You probably are tbh, in that the other semi is a bit less pop :( I do like it though. I much prefer the other semi. :( I really hope you get through. I either seem to love your entries massively or not care for them at all, never anything but these two extremes  Ha! That's understandable though. My entries never have mass-appeal. :heehee: Edited September 27, 201113 yr by Cal
September 27, 201113 yr I much prefer the other semi. :( Ha! That's understandable though. My entries never have mass-appeal. :heehee: You've carved out your own niche of sending slightly left-field, often foreign, always respectable pop or indie-pop and definitely have a country 'identity'. Sometimes the songs don't click with me at all and get nothing (like last month) but then on the other hand you must have appeared in my 12/10/8 points bracket more times than anybody else in the past couple of years - Katzenjammer, Frida Gold, Stromae, Little Marbles, jj, Vii - so many GREAT entries

I just think that it's interesting that they either get 8/10/12 from me or nothing  FSR Ashvia have been shown up this year by Espedan anyway, trading zeroes once each and then sometimes just a 1 or 2 point swap! I can't even remember the last time Espen didn't appear in Eledan's top three! Espen aren't always so kind in return of course but it's not quite to the Torchwood ---------> Kopecka one way traffic levels yet
September 27, 201113 yr I'm hoping Same Difference qualify because I think they're the only even near-succesful artist to have come out of my hometown like EVER Just Saying. ;) Edited September 27, 201113 yr by sugabloke94

For a while I was a bit all over the place with my entries, but it wasn't until last year that I began to gain a richer (?) music taste. I don't know if "richer" is the best word to describe what I'm trying to say, as it does sound quite condescending. But yeah, my taste has become quite defined in the last year or so. And it works in my favor... most of the time. :P What, even more than Ashton? :o I agree with Rich in that you've definitely got an identity, a bit hit or miss with me, but when you're good you're very very good  Hehe! I'm a bit like that with you, I think! I always used to give you points but haven't given you any big ones for a good while. :( Ashton, Kopecka and yourself have generally appeared more in my points than any other countries over the years, although often in the 5-7 points bracket whereas Espen seem to take up a place in my top three quite frequently! Our tastes are oddly close, but this has only occurred in the last year or so.
September 27, 201113 yr There's still a few songs that may or may not feature higher in the points than the artist in question, but it's one of a few BJSC discoveries I've purchased an album of as a result of being in the contest - one being The Young Professionals which arrived today  . I've also bought albums by Jenni Vartiainen, Molly Sanden (obviously I already knew her from MF, but the two Ashton entries convinced me to get her album), Hej Matematik, Oh Land and The Irrepressibles as a result of hearing songs by them in the contest. I have that album, and it's absolutely superb! Can't wait to hear the next one, hope it's not that far away from being released! Wow, that bolded bit is amazing to read. It's the reason I've been competing for nearly four years. It's all about the new music. On the subject of Molly's album, what do you think of it? Her version of Hallelujah gives me goosebumps.

The cover of Hallelujah was also stunning, it was a nice surprise on my first listen actually as I just put the CD in without looking at the tracklisting. A really superb cover!
September 29, 201113 yr I loved it! The cover of Hallelujah was also stunning, it was a nice surprise on my first listen actually as I just put the CD in without looking at the tracklisting. A really superb cover! I find that it's really good to drive to. Karlek, track one, is also a former Ashtonise entry. It was entered into the foreign language spin-off many moons ago and kicked off my love for her. Without that spin-off I wouldn't have won, nor entered some of the epic tracks I have.
September 29, 201113 yr I got 11 in Semi 1 and 10 in Semi 2...not the best, I'm definitely starting to lose touch, maybe Loreen won't win after all now that I'm so sure that it will
