It would have been SO different had she got the singles right and dialled the pretentiousness down to about a 2. No clown face make up outside, no flying dress, no anti-pop rants, simple videos. Gypsy, DWUW with Christina, Sexx Dreams, Artpop, Applause, job done. I might have also called the album something else. Had she doe this, Joanne would not have been a comeback;it would have been the sole flop era! BTW isn't a great album - it is very cheesy, and she still had yuuge success with that. Messy, brash ARTPOP could have been the same.

His response: "I don't think these things are happening because of the pandemic. I think they are happening because we made a great record."

I listened to this in full late last year for the first time ever I think. I can’t recall listening to it in full back when it was released. Whilst it’s not as good as The Fame/Monster I can actually really appreciate it now.

Aura / Sexxx Dreams: 'Aura' & 'Sexxx Dreams' were battling to be the lead single of “ARTPOP” at some point. But, after that Jimmy Iovine the ex-CEO of Interscope heard about 20 songs from ARTPOP, He suggested that 'Applause' should serve as the lead single of the record.

 

Sexxx Dreams: Gaga and DJWS started on this song at 4am and continued to work on it until 4pm the next day. It is one of his favourite songs.

 

Venus: He revealed that Gaga told him 'Venus' is one of the songs she plays when she's in a bad mood or feeling down because "it gets her hyped".

 

Jewels n' Drugs: There was some jewelry and weed on the table on the tour bus and Gaga asked Tara Savelo to pass her the weed but she passed her a bracelet instead. Gaga told Tara "I don't want the jewels, I want the drugs."

 

Do What U Want: He revealed that 'Do What U Want' is one of his favorite songs he’s ever made and “it’s a f*cking shame what happened.”

 

Fashion!: Will.I.Am told DJWS every day "I wanna work with Gaga" and Gaga eventually agreed and they created 'Fashion!'

 

Dope: "I'm making the creative decision here to skip Dope." He opted to play ‘Dope’ at the end of the event instead, while he was handing out the shots he bought the crowd.

 

Applause: "Originally this song wasn't going to be on the album"

It was Gypsy, and she switched at the last minute to a pop failure and the rest is history.
