The Moniker - OH SHIT. This is also growing on me. The performance was actually not that bad! The strings *.*

01 | Sean Banan - "Sean den förste Banan" // It's just so bloody catchy, wish I didn't like it, but I really do. The sort of novelty that's actually acceptable, but not what I'd want Sweden to send at all. 7.5/10

02 | Abalone Dots - "På väg" // Not my sort of thing at all, a bit too country for me (some of the string bits reminded me of Shakira's Gypsy, not a bad thing at all), but it's not the sort of thing I'd ever find much better than okay. 6/10

03 | The Moniker - "I Want To Be Chris Isaak (This Is Just the Beginning)" - Just like with Sean, against what I want to feel, I quite enjoyed that. It doesn't have the catchy factor that Oh My God! had, but I did quite enjoy it in more of an anthemic way.. 7/10

KGB? Serious? Ha!
Afro-Dite are actually the best so far. That's fun and good to listen to at the same time!

Catchy but I dunno, a bit dated maybe? Which I guess suits Eurovision fine but not what I'd really want.

1. Sean Banan [9.0/10]

2. Afro-Dite [8.5/10]

3. Abalone Dots [6.5/10]

4. The Moniker [4.5/10]

Sean Banan - I shamefully love this, it's too damn catchy and cheesetastic to ignore :nocheer: 8.5/10

Abalone Dots - I genuinely love this, a real grower of a melody (based on the 1 minute clip at least) and that was a very pleasant performance 9/10

The Moniker - Sorry, I'm just never going to be on board with The Moniker, he annoys me intensely but at least Oh My God was a well crafted pop song. This is pure $hite and I never want to hear it again. 1/10

Afro-Dite - Instant late 70s-esque disco with a 'slight' schlager touch. I suspect I'll grow into this but I'll never love it. 7/10

Afro-Dite - OUT-FUCKING-STANDING. OH MY GOD. Incredible. Vocals were perfect. SEX. I feel quite naughty talking about 50-year olds using the word SEX.

04 | Afro-Dite - "The Boy Can Dance" // There was everyone complaining this heat seemed crap, this is another one that sounds a lot better than the preview made me think. Another extremely catchy song, had me dancing in my seat, bit dated, but very good fun. 7/10

Dead By April - Sounds like Or from the Israeli NF last year melodically. This would be really good but I HATE the screamo parts, by far my least favourite genre of music, I just don't understand the point of it. Downgrading it therefore from what would have been an 8.5/10 to 7/10

I'll try and look past the metal parts as the chorus is actually really good.

05 | Dead By April - "Mystery" // I enjoyed that a hell of a lot more than I expected to. What JohnKM said, without the shouty bits, it's actually a very good song. 7/10

Sans SHOUTY ROCK BIT this song would actually be alright.

Exactly. The rest of it is actually rather good and melodic. I don't think I'd want to hear it again though, because the shouting is painful. Heavy rock is infinitely better without those bits, I don't understand why they do it.

DbA - this will do well at Eurovision. I don't think growl was ever sent to ESC. Performance was okay. Studio version > live performance 7.5/10

I'm not actually bothering to watch (probably will do next semi) but I so agree on Dead By April. It'd be like 7.5/10 without the horrific screaming, rather than 4 at best.
