Posted August 2, 200618 yr There are so many formats you can buy your music singles on, from Vinyls to CDs and DVS In my record collection I have loads of 7" vinyls this was before pre-CDs were introduced, it seems the vinyl is trying to make a comeback, recently I purchased quite a few rare vinyls limited editions such as coloured vinyls, picture discs, and signed covers, which makes a great record collection. So what format do you prefer buying your singles on, rather than downloading off course. I feel you get more value for money buying CDs for that rare b-side that you don't get when you download music. This week I bought Captain - Glorious on all 3 formats, as they were part of a 3 part bundle, part 3 is a limited 7" inch vinyl.

August 2, 200618 yr it depends imo. i do like having tracks on vinyl, because i honestly think it has a better song. but the problem is that i cant put the tracks on my ipod, and the Lp's are more expensive, so i rarely buy 12'' albums. i buy many 7'' singles because HMV often sells them off for 99p. id never buy a 7'' for more than 99p because i cannot put it on my ipod. otherwise, the cd single mainly. i see decent cassettes sometimes aswell in old record shops and charity shops which i have no problem with if they are really cheap, and that i do love the song. i never buy DVD singles because they are usually the most expensive (2.99 - i would never pay this for a single, unless it was my favorite artist), and because i cba using my dvd player as the sound is c**p on my tv, and i cba fiddling with the sound options etc. Edited August 2, 200618 yr by sab
August 2, 200618 yr I've only ever bought singles and albums on CD, I've never even considered vinyl etc.
August 2, 200618 yr Author cant you quickly stick a poll in here? I did, but it fecked up on me
August 2, 200618 yr i always buy cd's but my favourite format is a 12'' vinyl, there just so cool and big ^_^ I usually only buy cd's for albums and singles, although I do own 7 and 12'' vinyls
August 2, 200618 yr Always has been and always will be CDs, I have a few DVDs, 7"s and 12"s as well as I like to buy every format of a single.
August 3, 200618 yr I have loads of both 7 & 12 vinyl from before CDs came out. They're still great to listen to (scratches as well). Now I always buy CDs for albums. For singles I buy equally CDs & Downloads. Reason I get download singles is I like a lot of European music that doesn't get UK released, such as the band in my signature. For European CDs I buy on (expensive) import. Edited August 3, 200618 yr by Euro Music
August 3, 200618 yr I prefer to download singles, but I prefer having CD albums, although now I'm getting into downloading them
August 3, 200618 yr CD's for me as well, artwork plays a big part but there's nothing more satisfying in my opinion, than going into a shop and buying an album from your favourite artist and then rushing home to rip off that wrapper and smell the newness of it all and then listening to it for the first time. :yahoo: Have I said too much?
August 3, 200618 yr I did, but it fecked up on me  used to that to me. realise have to put everything in the box
August 3, 200618 yr Mainly CDs, as I like the artwork, but sometimes I download. i only buy cds if its cheap or comes with a freeby. i like watching music vids better than listening to it
August 3, 200618 yr all of them CDs, vinyls picture dics are cool or some with great artwork and some have exclusive tracks and remixes on 12" too, there is something abut vinyls the larger image, the packaging the big round thing that contains music and they look better in a music collection, theres more effort put into them, they will never die B)
