Highly doubt there's any kind of conspiracy going on here, just everybody seems to have decided to vote for Poker Face this round..

i really hope so cos these sorts of things get ruined when people do. however how do you explain poker face getting five times as many votes in this round than the last..........

 

i wouldnt bat an eye lid if it was a song that i expected to get that many votes, so it seems very suspect to me. saying that i really dont want poker face to win lol

Poker Face and Bad Romance are very similar songs. If you like one, chances are you like the other. And if you hate one, chances are you hate the other. There are people that like one song and not the other, but they're quite rare.

So now we're basically having a criminal investigation because Poker Face has 10 votes? :blink:

 

Not just that. Its the fact that 2 of the most popular songs in any of the games have gone out the way they have and so early out of the blue, one after the other.

Its not becuase its GaGa. It just looks suspicious that there is all of a sudden a big surge in gaga votes over the last few rounds, so early on in the game. Especially when one of them is by far the biggest winner we had within the games.

The votes for Bad Romance did not come as a surprise. It was close to going out for more than a few rounds before it finally got ditched.

This is kind of a surprise although I don't mind it at all seeing the panic it stirs up :lol:

People will be bored of Lady Gaga winning everything on here, not everyone likes her and and this is a least favourite competition it's far easier to stop her from winning. Also, every song on here was voted as one of the best four on any given year so there aren't many that aren't loved by the majority. People talking about what's infront will only gain more votes. I do it and I'm sure others do too. I don't know about anyone else but in these polls there are usually a handful of songs I'd like to win, and the rest I don't want to on varying degrees of dislike. When people say Song A and Song B are getting lots of votes and I like one and not the other I shall vote for one, even if I may dislike Song C more, I don't see that as tactical voting but others might.

 

Finally, the 2009 game was ran over a year ago, things change a lot on here from one year to the next, just look at the Record of the Decade competition I ran, songs finishing in the top 5 one year and not making the top 100 the next. The memberbase changes, as do the tastes.

^ Also, I think 2009 was generally a poor year for music anyway. Bad Romance and Poker Face did murder all competition, but at the same time, there wasn't exactly much! :lol:

I think it was ridiculous to even suspect cheating going on. I've said it earlier, most people will think that Poker Face is worse than Bad Romance. Therefore a backlash against it this round (that's where I laid my cards, PF is one of the weakest here for me, in any case, BR is not), plus Bad Romance voters transferring leads to an overwhelming vote for Poker Face to leave this round.

 

We'll have to see what happens to Paparazzi next round to judge that though. Will be up soon. ^_^
