January 28, 201213 yr They're actually doing it by how well they did. So Malin got 3rd place, Tommy second and plumbo first place. What a f***ing stupid thing to do
January 28, 201213 yr TAKE IT OFF MINNIE-OH! WHO CHOOSES YOUR CLOTHES? ARE THEY BLIND? From what she has said herself in interviews, she makes her own clothes and stuff, and has decided close to everything about her own performance! ^_^ I really enjoyed her song, though. It got better and better as it went on, and I thought it stood out. Not only in this years MGP, but MGP in general. She should've qualified :(
January 28, 201213 yr Obviously. No designer would let this monstrosity on stage. Edited January 28, 201213 yr by Ljósið
January 28, 201213 yr They're actually doing it by how well they did. So Malin got 3rd place, Tommy second and plumbo first place. Oh really? Doesn't leave much suspense for the final does it... Who won last week's semi, I can't remember if Nora or the metal song were announced last. Either way Plumbo are easing to Eurovision unless Tooji can pull off a massive upset...
January 28, 201213 yr What a f***ing stupid thing to do  :P Well.. I'm not sure I remember why they choose to do it like that this year, but I don't think transparency is ruining anything in the final, though. In the past; songs can come from Siste sjansen and still go quite good in the final! I'm now trying to get hopeful that Minnie-Oh is chosen as the Wild Card! She must be!
January 28, 201213 yr Last year however it was the Siste Sjansen qualifiers, The Lucky Bullets and Sie Gubba, who finished 3rd and 4th in the final respectively  Still, a very stupid move. Edited January 28, 201213 yr by Ljósið

January 28, 201213 yr Reidun third place, The Carburetors second and Nora first :) Ooh, that's reassuring! I wouldn't want Nora winning the whole thing though and follow Didrik's 'success' at Eurovision :drama: Edited January 28, 201213 yr by Ljósið
January 28, 201213 yr Nora  I reckon it would probably do better than Nadine Beiler at ESC..., the public might snub it but the juries surely couldn't ignore such rich and high quality production values, the orchestration is gorgeous on it, sounds like a classic film soundtrack song. Plumbo probably won't do particularly well at Eurovision, I LOVE it but I just don't imagine a Norwegian folk song appealing that much to either the juries or the public (who have no idea who Plumbo are outside of Norway). Tooji or possibly Tommy would probably do best in the contest.

Tooji or possibly Tommy would probably do best in the contest. I'm very afraid of Plumbo in that sense, as they're practically singing "I love Norway" with everything about their sound and lyrics, which is obviously quite appealing to the norwegian people - and most them tend to vote with their heart and usually don't think about what could do well in ESC. What is this Tooji? Is their song really that good? Tell me about it  What makes you say it could win? Edited January 28, 201213 yr by Freeze
January 28, 201213 yr Can't wait for the next Semi. Going to be AMAZING - Tooji, Marthe, Yaseen & Julie Maria
January 28, 201213 yr I'm very excited to hear Lise Karlsnes' song! If it's as good as people say in here, then I'm most definitely in for a treat as I loved Red hot  Edited January 28, 201213 yr by Freeze
January 28, 201213 yr What is this Tooji? Is their song really that good? Tell me about it  What makes you say it could win? It's just an instantly catchy, modern pop song, the closest thing MGP has to an Eric Saade I guess  However, it's got some really interesting sounds in it so couldn't be described as generic, hence it really stands out. The chorus reminds me a lot of Scheiße by Lady Gaga musically. I don't know that he has what it takes to overcome Plumbo but I do think he'll go straight to the final and do well. Also, it would smash at Eurovision.
January 28, 201213 yr Actually, I've just Googled images of Tooji, and not only is he the closest thing Norway have to Eric Saade, he's rather similar looking too; http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q...aM-qh0QXDgKHOCg :o

Ooh wow, this should be something for my tastes  I've read some discussion on a norwegian MGP forum and as there are fans of Plumbo, there are equally as many who feel they shouldn't win at all as they can already tell it would fail badly at Eurovison. Publiners didn't win, but did good - so let's just hope people think more thoroughly before they vote in the final and keep Plumbo from winning. I mean, I do enjoy the song, but sending them to Eurovison? I would rather have The Carburetors winning, tbh :drama:

Te Stein qualified for the final through the second chance round if I'm not mistaken whereas Plumbo have won their semi. I wonder if Ola Nordmann would be translated into English should they win or left in Norwegian?

I wonder if Ola Nordmann would be translated into English should they win or left in Norwegian? I didn't think of that. You're absolutely right, Plumbo is much bigger than Publiners it seems, and with all this discussion going around because of this "Mokkamenn" thing makes a great deal of publicity for them as well. IF they ever managed to win (which would be awful :drama: ) it would be much better in english, in theory, but how someone is ever able to translate "Ola Nordmann" is beyond even me  I don't think it would be the same, though, as they are very norwegian all together and the norwegian language comes with the package. It probably wouldn't feel right. Edited January 28, 201213 yr by Freeze
January 28, 201213 yr Random question but is Lise Karlsnes deemed to be a big star in Norway? And is it likely she could win? I know she has lots of fans on here - and I'd like to see a few familiar names in Eurovision :)
January 28, 201213 yr Random question but is Lise Karlsnes deemed to be a big star in Norway? And is it likely she could win? I know she has lots of fans on here - and I'd like to see a few familiar names in Eurovision :) She used to be big, way back in 2000 when she was the lead singer of a band called Briskeby. was their biggest hit, which did well in Europe too. It's been so long, and since she is a solo artist now it's almost like starting all over again with the audience. She has a lot of potential to be big again on her own, but Lise Karlsnes hasn't properly introuced herself yet. Participating in MGP will definitely change that, though. I hope people see her decent qualities and like what is surely set to be an amazing song!
