Could it be the third week in a row that the number 1 in the first midweeks doesn't make it to the top after Cher and JLS ?

It's gonna be a tricky week for The Saturdays, Flo Rida will definitely push them one place lower, and they're most likely going to get knocked off the top 10... They should have released the album on the back of "All fired up", or even early at the same time as "Notorious". They wanted to release as many top10 hits as possible before the album is out but they're not Rihanna, and now the album is gonna fall flat without a strong single...

Very happy with Snow Patrol overtaking JLS in the albums, and yet Snow Patrol have no alternative covers for each member for the band ! Hehe :kink:

Happy for Cher's album holding in the top 10 too !

How are Parade doing in the albums?

If it sold 1000 copies it'd be a miracle

Quite bad for REM but then again, the previous GH sold truckloads and contains all their big hits.

Pixie spent a year working on an album that is mostly filler and only has two good songs. She has shown no progression or improvement, her debut was better.

Pleased at Snow Patrol at No 1 lets hope Rihanna gets her rightful spot back this week.

The Collective could drop out of the Top 40, Gary Barlow should not be left in charge of anyones singles but Take That.I hope he is not writing the X-factor winners single.

I'm glad Snow Patrol are #1 in the albums, some great tracks on it, it deserves to be there. I'm not taking a stab at JLS fans, but the material on Snow Patrol's album really stands out. I think JLS should take a year out and comeback with a great album, its like having an album out every year from them #2 album is not going to be the end for them, its just a blip, it happens to every act.
We only have a top 40 album update any new entries would have been listed.

5+5=10 :D geddit

I thought I did, the first number being last week's number the second being the movement; added together giving the actual position. Is that right?

What's confused me is Matt Cardle is down as 30+2 - should that be 20+2 or has it fallen 12 places and should be 30+12

or have a totally got the wrong end of the stick?

Hahaha, I was just curious.

Apparently she wrote 70 songs for the album! I dread to think what the others were like if the ones that made the final cut are mostly filler!

Well their last album only peaked at 2 behind Take That - so I doubt its that much of a biggie tbh

No wkd, it's just straight forward Maths. We're not supposed to explicitly write the exact chart positions of everything in the top 40 so here new entries have their numbers stated and then all other updates are written as a simple sum so we know what the position is without explicitly stating it's number so and so. So in Matt's case the sum could be 28+4 or 30 +2 or 26+6 etc but they would all lead to his chart position today which unfortunately is quite a tumble!

Make that fifty.

isn't it? :o but I'm glad I asked cos it's been driving me mad for weeks try to work out the maths and just when I think I've got it, it doesn't work - but that explains it if it's not actual maths

Big drop for Matt :( Even bigger drop for Professor Green! I think Matt could climb, Starlight is getting more airplay now and he has CIN on Friday :)

Snow Patrol number 1, did not see this coming, im not a fan and with recent singles not performing overly strong it is a surprise to see them ahead of JLS who are big album sellers and have a successfull singles rate to their credit.

Very nice photo!!!

They will only climb between now and friday. Barlow isnt on the single, he got Labrinth to get the artists who form the collective on board. He is writing the winners single and it will sell over a million. Finally the winner gets a original song, only going to make the show more credible.

So do you know exactly what # Take Care is at? I hope it gets Top 3 at least, be ecstatic if it came before JLS. It's a truly great album. TML came at #15 last year

i wish we knew what the sales gap between snow patrol and JLS is

i dont think it matters who gets the no 1 spot its sales that matters not chart positions and both bands usualy sell well

Still waiting for the MW mid report for sales info.

A bit disappointed with Drake's position in the album mids. I was hoping for at least top 10!

So many big flops this week :o The Collective not top 30? What a huge embarrassment for Gary Barlow!

Pixie's album not top ten too! And R.E.M. at the foot of the top 20 - tragic!

I'm not exactly a fan of theirs but it's a shame to see Westlife's 12 year long top ten streak end on their last ever single...
